Please name the leaving seniors and returning class men (and returning grade level) that will make up the tennis team from around East Texas and how you think the team will do!

Whitehouse:
Boys Leaving:
Shawn Sexton
Clayton Nutt

Boys Returning:(Order of Last Years Rank)
Richard Corbin (Senior)
Connor McKown (Junior)
Maurice Lapierrer (Senior)
Peter Gilbreath (Junior)
Joseph Recchia (Junior)
Blake Carrol (Junior)
Carson McKown (Sophomore) (Did Not Play Last Year) (Should be rank fourth or above) (He was seeded 3rd at the Texas State Games in 2004)

Girls Leaving:
Fallon Pierce

Girls Are Returning Everyone Else
(If all decide to play next year)

I think that the Whitehouse team has a great chance this year! The boys are looking very strong and with Corbin/Lapierrer most likely playing doubles and McKown/McKown together and Gilbreath/Recchia playing with each other the boys are looking very strong doubles wise! Singles wise they all have different games which all can create a diverse type of shot selection which should prove to keep all teams on their feet! The girls have shown much improvement from last year and should create a solid line up and win most of their matches! I am predicting a winning year for Whitehouse! Also, Corbin was awarded first team all district and McKown was awarded second team all district so the Whitehouse team has proven to have talent, and not to mention the Whitehouse Boys team was Co-District Champions with a very young team so they should prove to be very good!

Well in Jacksonville, we are losing 7 seniors
Boys:
Robby Day
Justin Hanna
Gordon Ross
Lance Taylor

Girls:
Kristin Bennett
Rachel Weaver
Marisol Landin

The weak point will absolutely be the girls team. However Katy Day is beginning to prove herself as one of the top girls in the district. Amanda Bradshaw is undoubtebly the best 2 in the district. After that, it is still up in the air. On the other hand, the guys will be young but strong. Returning will be seniors: Boone Hugghins and Kyle Tinsley, juniors: Marcus Bennett, David Houser, Joesph Canter. but the biggest addition will be the four freshman boys all with much tournament experience. Champs John Day and John Becker along with Timmy Bennett and Dylan Hanna will join the team. If those last names sound familiar its because three are the younger brothers of Robby Day, Justin Hanna and Kristin Bennett and all have the same drive to rise to the top as those seniors did. Next year is really cloudy for the Tribe, it will all depend on freshman play and if the girls team can find the talent. They probably will fight for the second or third spot in the district.

Wills Point has a lot coming back. Only lost 1 girl and 2 guys. One of the pair of boys doubles that took 3rd at state this year. He will be missed. Kaufman looses a lot and Spring Hill looses a lot. Van looses its top boys but their girls are going to be strong at the top.
VolleyDoll
Pleasant Grove has their entire guys team coming back and all but 2 girls. Should have pretty strong girls team again next year.

Kilgore JV pretty much dominated district, and there will be some kids coming up from that group to compete. Also a few freshman girls could be in the mix.

Harmony lost the girls doubles that went to state last year, but the mixed doubles that went are going to be seniors this year.

JV "domination" doesn't necessarily translate into success for Varsity. True competitors usually go straight to Varsity. Returning girls are fairly strong, boys' side is not so stable. I'm looking forward to seeing what the coach has in store for his sophomore attempt.

Well, I think kids that win 1st or 2nd in JV district can fill in nicely in the 5, 6, and 7 spots. Every team loses seniors, and most teams fill those bottom slots with JV kids. If those kids are filling your top spots, then things could be rough, but that isn't the case for Kilgore. I think both sides are pretty stable, even though the boys are still young(5 sophomores). Most of the kids played a lot over the summer(especially the boys), so hopefully it will pay off for them this Fall. I know the team and most parents have high expectations and hopes this year.
