There were some good matches in this event, but Kilgore lost 3 matches that went 3 sets after winning the first set. Lindale's girls were excellent and the boys were good at the top.

This match was called towards the end because of lightning. Out of the finished matches, the score was 8-8. There were 3 varsity matches still being played, and Kilgore was ahead in games in all 3 matches. I've talked to a few people in the profession, and they say there are no written rules on this for non-distict matches. Some coaches say you just count the completed matches. Some say, since it's not being made up, whoever was ahead in unfinished matches (# of games won) would count as the win.

So, it was either

or

Kilgore 11
Center 8

Let see, I have a child down 1-5 (0-40) in the third set, only to win 7-5 in a district final. I think it goes down as a tie.

Sounds like a good match.

All of these scores have been fairly predictable. Henderson should be an interesting match-up. Can't wait for the Kilgore program to start building up again.

Sorry Kilgore & Texas High are not playing this year. Appears it would be a competitive match similiar to the Fall 2003 when Kilgore let school out for the match.

I'm not so sure Kilgore is quite on the same level as Texas High. The players have been performing pretty well this season, though. Perhaps it's the effect of their new, fresh-out of high school unofficial assistant coach.

Spring Hill also beat Longview, not sure about the score, but it wasn't very close.

As close as the top 3A region 2 teams have been playing each other will make a very interesting team tennis tournament in the spring. I think the one team that may suprise a few people this year in the team tennis tourny is Pleasant Grove. PG's girls have a ton of talent this year, strong on top and bottom, and i would say could arguably be the best girls in the region this year. and the PG guys have more depth than they have had in the past years. Still it's too early to tell. I havn't seen many of these teams play yet this year other than Van. But still, should be interesting to see what happens!

Couldn't tell ya! We haven't played PG.

Wills Point is solid. Their girls massacred ours, not one girl won a match, singles, doubles, anything.

Van's also solid, we pulled a win out but their were some close matches.

Anyways will be cool to see who wins.

That is an impressive win. What was Haley's score with Casey?

So how were those Whitehouse Boys? I am sorry Texas High and Kilgore did not play each other this Fall. I think it would have given them some recognition at Regionals. I think you will have a hard time getting seeded because you did not play outside of East Texas.

Casey won 5 of the first 6 games. After that, Haley won most of the games. I think the final score was 4-6, 6-1, 10-6.

Congrats to Pleasant Grove!!! They beat reigning state champs Liberty-Eylau 9-7 friday night. Of course Eylau's best player is out with a broken collar bone, but who cares a win is a win and one player does not make a team. But that win was awesome!!!!
