Paris announcer absolutely livid about an apparent Bush Push by the Little Elm fullback to their QB to help them convert a fourth down. I got to say one thing, that's the most passionate high school football radio announcer I've ever heard. whome.gif

Final Little Elm 24, Paris 17

no doubt it was Mike Patterson...he does football, basketball and baseball for PISD...not sure he's not a paid announcer...very adamant and passionate for his team...not the 'objective' announcer some would hope for...but a nice guy anyway!

Not familiar with their radio team so I can't say. but I was afraid he might start with the cussing for a second there. Or jump down on the field to berate the refs. whome.gif

Mike Patterson has not announced Paris games in years. Randy Nations does the radio broadcast. I know the call he was talking about and it was really obivious and a key play on 4th down.

Patterson does do the announcing from the press box at football and baseball and also does basketball.

As for being a "paid announcer", I'd sure hope that they get paid for the time they spend doing it. I'm sure Toppings doesn't do it for NL without pay either.

Hey, nothing wrong with a homer.gif behind the mic.

The radio announcers are compensated by East Texas Radio albeit not much...they've got to love the game...but I'm a little confused, you said it wasn't Patterson but said he did the football games...please clarify...he is a little passionate ESPECIALLY when Paris is playing NL!!! I've heard a few jabs from time to time unnecessarily (and I've told him so jokingly!!!) smile.gif

Patterson is the PA announcer but has not done radio games in several years. He's a good guy even if he does get the names wrong about 25% of the time.
