Tennis season is sooo close!
Post your team's schedule on here when you get a chance, so we can see who will be at what tournaments.
Also, who will be the teams and players to watch in East Texas this spring?

So it doesn't look like I'll be playing Haley this spring. That's too bad because we had some good matches last year and she was my toughest opponent in all of my pre-district tournaments.

Hmmm...so after a few short weeks of tournament, who's ready to predict state qualifiers? haha. As unpredictable as it is in most cases, it's still fun to hear a few opinions.

In 3A boys I see that Silsbee kid again, Tucker(it doesn't matter what hes playing) maybee some boys from Center if they'd get there act together and practice. I see you, Morgan easily qualifying. what about Britini Fauset, I heard shees in 3A now. Mattew from Van is defenitly a qualifier. I don't know about anyone else sooo....

Brittini is in 3A and should dominate region 3 pretty easily, with Taylor's Reese Hall coming in 2nd in the region. Also in region 3 Robinson's Mueck should be there regardless of what he plays. I see Center sending a few boys as well.
As far as region 2, I find that this year will be highly interesting to watch and see what happens. As of right now, I am aware of 4 quality teams putting their top players in mixed doubles. Van will return their regional championship mixed team, while Spring Hill returns their 2nd place team. On top of that, Wills Point has been playing their top guy and girl in mixed AND Frisco Wakeland is playing two of their top players in mixed so far this season. And I know this doesn't mean much to a lot of people on the board, but
Liberty Eyleau has put together a rather impressive mixed pair that should make some noise at regionals. They beat the Wills Point team in the finals of the Jacksonville tournament (I didn't believe it when I heard it either...I had to go look it up online--and sure enough!). This will make a very interesting battle at regionals if things stay the way they are. Of course a lot can change in a matter of months. Now, as far as girls singles, I don't expect this year to be quite as easy as last year. I'm sure a few coaches noticed the lack of competition in that draw last year, therefore I'm sure I will be fed some tougher opponents this time, if I forgo the singles route again this year (the possibility of playing doubles has been quite tempting now that Ashley and Melanie are gone that draw is WIDE open). Wakeland has a few talented girls I hear, and 3rd and 4th place girls will be back.

Van's mixed team in not back. Nick graduated and is playing at Seminole Jr. College in OK. Haven't seen Wakeland's team, they will have a lot of reps at Regionals. Of course it must be nice to have 1400 kids to choose from in AAA. They better enjoy it will they can they are fixing to get a taste of Highland Park and JJ Pierce. WP's mixed team is strong and I heard that they choked against Liberty Eyleau, but they still got beat. Haven't heard how Spring Hill's team is doing they will be strong. Girls doubles will be a battle. WP, Kaufman, Athens, and Wakeland will all be in the hunt. Boys doubles I will go with Wakeland and after that it will be up for grabs.

You're right, Nick did graduate and I knew that. Natalie is playing with another one of their guys, not quite as strong as Nick, but I have seen them play this year and they'll be in the run...but I don't see them at the top.

I had no clue that Liberty Eylau had a tennis team. I never heard of them at all playing tennis until just a few days ago. Are they goo? Compare them to someone from around Nac or Jacksonville. How about there boys are they good?

Ummm....they are decent. They had a pair of boys doubles who were good last year. THey took Wakeland's 3rd place boys team to 3 sets and should have won, but they tanked mentally and let the 3rd set slip through their fingers. One of the guys graduated and the other is a senior this year. He shouldn't play singles, if I had to guess, because he is a MUCH better doubles player than a singles player. Their top girl this year is very good as well, plays USTA in the southern section in Arkansas with me, we've played doubles together in USTA tournaments before. She is also a much better doubles player than she is at singles, and if put in singles probably wouldn't be able to get passed Pleasant Grove's two singles players at district. These two are pretty much the only quality players Liberty Eyleau has, so the best fit for them will be mixed doubles. I wouldn't worry about anyone else in any other division from there.

Natalie is playing with a kid that is better then Nick, some Brazilian guy who is their number 1 and really good.
SH's Lee/Aldredge had a hard time beating them, but did beat them. Wills Point in fall tennis didn't play their number 1 guy and girl in mixed. Their number 1 and 2 guy played guys doubles, and we beat them.
