Do yall think the mavs will have over or under 50 wins this season?? past few seasons this season looks like the weakest team yet, but the past few seasons the mavs have surprised everybody in every aspect...so who knows

Preseason is preseason, but they looked pretty good last night. J.J. was the only who really disappointed me last night. Again, it's just the preseason.

They'll be just above average. Fight for a 7 or 8 spot and quickly get blown out in the first round.
I wish it could be better but I don't see where they've aquired anything in the offseason to change my mind.
Perhaps Carlile will help but I'm not optomistic.

i know it just doesnt seem like they have any fire left...its all up to dirk, he cant settle for jump shots all the time again.....when they went to the finals he was driving every play

I don't see the Mavs being the team they have been the past few years. With how tough the Western Conference is, they may not even make the playoffs this year.

I think they're fightin for a playoff spot honestly... It'll take another MVP type season from Dirk to squeak the Mavs in, but maybe since the expectations aren't too high they'll surprise some folks... I could see them making a big trade sometime during the season to shake things up as well... Basketball has become quite the merry-go-round !!

I think that they will fight for the 7th or 8th playoff spot.
On a different note, Sports Illustrated picked the San Antonio Spurs to win it all!!!

i think they have an outside shot at the playoffs and that's because just about everyone makes it.

As an ardent Mavs supporter, it pains me to say this.
They're probably not going to make the playoffs this year.
But, I don't think the Spurs are going to win the Title this year, either. It's Boston's to lose.

i believe they are going to surprise a few people with the way they are going to play defense this season, and the swagger is really up to jerry stackhouse and jason terry...when they are playing well and healthy, the mavs are hard to beat and we got diop back, we really missed him in the first round last season....but all in all, the key thing to watch this season is jason kidd and dirk...

I want the Mavs to be good, but you can never tell. I predict them going about 55-27. They will probably be 6th or 7th seed and get knocked off in the first or second round. I was gonna go to the season opener this week but its on the first day of practice so i decided not to. Good luck MAVS!!!

I believe it depends on how they respond to their new head coach how they will do. But if they run like jason kidd likes to do i think they will get in the playoffs as a 6 or 7 seed. I got 1. rockets 2. hornets 3. lakers 4. suns 5. spurs 6. utah 7. dallas 8. denver

I do not see why the Mavs cannot compete for the West title. I see them winning 55 or so games and a 5th seed.
On the other hand i will be enjoying the Thunders home opener tomorrow, live.

At least they took care of business tonight and beat the Spurs in San Antonio.

if jason terry plays solid at the 2 gaurd, the mavs should be a 3 or 4 seed without a doubt....jason kidd looks hes 10 years younger the way hes playin right now

Underachivers...again.
I hope they do well, but am not optimistic based on the start they have had so far. They let one slip away against the Lakers the other night.

Dallas can have Chris Mihm, Yue Sun and a future 3rd round pick for them.

The Mavs need to rebuild, but even that would be difficult.
First of all, that will bring anything serviceable in a trade is Dirk. I can assure you this franchise will not trade Dirk. Dirk may leave in free agency once his contract is up, but we will not trade him.
Ideally, we would tear this team down. Get rid of everything except for Dirk, Bass and Gerald Green. We didn't have a draft pick last year, won't have one next year, but we do have a 1st round pick this year. This means if we want to really tank, this will be the year because we can get in the lottery and try and pull a San Antonio and find our Duncan. Again, no one wants a Stackhouse, Terry, Kidd, Diop or Dampier. We're stuck with them and we're stuck with this team.
It will probably be 2011 before we can begin building this sucker back up again.

Seems they are having trouble finishing games...the other night against LA and tonight agains the Magic. Can't keep a lead...

they definitely had a rocky start, but they are finding ways to win now. 4 game winning streak currently and they get another shot at LA this Friday. i'm holding on to hope, i think they can win the division (already beat SA and HOU on the road), just cross my fingers that there isn't another post-season meltdown.

Lost by 7 to Boston last night. Great game by both teams. Dirk played like a beast. I guess I'll take a 7 point loss to the defending champs iif they can play like they did last night against other teams.

I was at that game and it was amazing! Too bad they couldn't hold on to a 15 point lead. Pierce took over in the 4th and Dirk went ice cold. Boston really stepped up their D in the 2nd half.
