they lost at area

im pretty sure they got next 2 last
Wait
Gilmer and Spring Hill were rivals... ?
Since when? All this time, I thought it was always Gladewater (or Pittsburgh in Band competitions)...
And you would be wrong in your assumption: according to the following attachment, Gilmer got 8th out of a total of 18 placements in the prelims, a mere one place away from progression.
Just about the same difference between spring hill making it to State in San Antonio. I fail to see how that's, by any form of mathematics or physics, close to or the same as "2nd to last"... ?
Click to view attachmentGilmer has improved SO MUCH over the last couple of years. I graduated in '06 and got to experience the glory days with Ed Fenton, Tony Melton, Darin Caffey and Martin Gaspar, along with several phenomenal, multiple state-qualifying woodwind players. What I saw today at NAMMB was the best I've ever seen the Mighty Buckeye Band, even better than when I was a part of the show. I look forward to seeing their continued success and hope those kids hold onto the level of passion I saw from them today. I never thought I would see so many of those band members absolutely love what they do, and nothing makes me happier.
