On opening night, the Lakers smashed the Blazers 96-76 lead by Kobe's 23 points and 11 rebounds. Andrew Bynum had 8 points and 3 rebounds in his 1st game since going down with a knee injury last year. The Lakers out scored Portland in all 4 quarters.
Last night, the Lakers made easy work of the Clippers, 117-79. Seven different Lakers finish with double digits in scoring, lead by Bryant's 16. Bynum had a much better game with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks.
The Lakers are 2-0 and will next play the Nuggets in Denver on Nov. 1st.

The Lakers are still looking good 5 games into the season. They are 5-0, 1 of only 2 teams left undefeated, and their margin of victory is over 22 points per game, again, 1 of only 2 teams with a MoV over 10 points per game. Their 106 points scored per game is the highest in the NBA while their 84 points against per game is the lowest.
I would have to say things are looking real good for the Lakers early in the season. There's still a long way to go yet. Hopefully the 'injury bug' doesn't bite us as hard as it did last season. Should the Lakers stay healthy all year long, they should be the favorite to rep the Western Conference in the finals again this year.

Well the Mavs tried to slow the Lakers down, but they couldn't quite knock LA off their win streak. the Lakers are playing good team basketball, and their bench contributes alot of good minutes. The only other undefeated team is the Atlanta Hawks, wow thats a new spot for them.

L.A. Lakers are 13-1 and still rolling.
I don't want to jump the gun, but could this be the year that the Bull's record of 70 wins gets broken? They are on pace to do just that but I doubt they keep this pace up for the whole season.

i think it's 72 wins actually... i doubt they get it though, that's a pretty amazing record.
and what are a bunch of self-respecting Texans doing on this LA Lakers bandwagon anyway??? there are 3 good NBA teams in this state but you guys want to support Cali?
