With all of the arguments about style and who should have won, etc.. I would just like to thank all students, directors, and staff who are dedicated to their programs and work countless hours working together to achieve success. East Texas has a great # of quality bands who should all feel proud of their accomplishments wether or not they are happy with their final outcome. In 20 years it will not matter how your band placed at a particular contest but what principles you learned about teamwork, accountability, dedication, and responsibility to others. Band is the one school activity that transcends all racial, socio-economic, gender, and intelligence barriers to provide students a learning environment that truly mirrors the real world. In today's ever increasing "me first" society I am proud of all involved that have put in the time, effort, and sweat to make East Texas Bands a worthwhile endeavor.
