Pine Tree, Longview, Kilgore, Marshall, Henderson, Hallsville in that order. Although the last 3 could change at anytime.

i think its going to be pine tree, longview, hallsville, henderson, marshall, kilgore.
its going to be a tight race for 3rd and 4th place i think between hallsville, henderson and marshall.
ptdsoccer16

i dont think yall are giving marshall enough credit. they have always competed. hallsville #### this year to according to some of there current and old players! but yea its always interesting

Nov 14 2008, 07:25 PM
hallsville just needs a good coach, their senior keeper last year told me the guy who replaced Benji was just a supervisor and that he(the keeper) coached the team
i think the real fight is going to be Longview Vs PineTree, but im thinking they each win at home, and the first place spot is decided on whoever screws up against a lower seed team
Longview has got the better players (speed, size, skills), but Pine Tree surprised a lot of people including myself with their teamwork last year, and the only starter lost was the keeper, plus their defensive line is going to be rock solid... again.
For longview to win they will have to score early, or receive a fluke goal by the inexperienced keeper

Now that opinion seems to be smarter and less bias.. Pine Tree has always been strong and competitive. East texas always seems to have someone representing them late into the playoffs. Unlike 5A is merely represented by Dallas teams.

Kilgore should be around the 3rd spot I think. Lost some seniors but JV was good. It will be a close race for 3rd and 4th.

Kilgore has never been "good", but theyve never been pushovers either... they usually seem to depend on skill rather than teamwork... ill take back what i said earlier "easy wins" and change it to "should wins"

Dec 26 2008, 10:49 PM
I wouldn't say Kilgore has never been good. I believe in 2003 they got beat in the 3rd or 4th round in very strong winds to the eventual state champion. Keeling can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe they were scored on only going against the wind. That has nothing at all to do with the present Kilgore team or the team of the past 4-5 years. Just can't say they've never been good

What does Marshall have coming back from last years team? How strong has Lview been in the past?

we played with most of the marshall team over the summer in a summer league and they werent that bad! i think they still have quite a few coming back! as for lview, they have been pretty strong in the past! their midfield this year should be very strong and their keeper is really good! should be a tough team!

Pinetree beat lake dallas and north Dallas. Then got beat by keller 2-0
Kilgore apparently had a good showing at their tournament??
Marshall beat Pittsbugh in Shootout.
Longview lost to The colony, El paso americas, and beat Amarillo (who beat the other two).

How can you say Roberto Rios from pt is an inexperienced goal keeper, he is better then the senior goal keepers from last year, Rios is quick as a cat, an probably the best goal keeper in the league.
ptdsoccer16
Jan 31 2009, 01:48 PM
haha ok easy guys! i played with the senior keepers last year and i play with rios now! yea both are good! both hogue and burda were great keepers last year! only allowed 16 goals last season! one of the fewest ever! but last year the keepers were splitting time evenly (unless one had a red card ptkeep)

this year rios will more than likely be playing the whole game and he could get tired and loss concentration. it only takes one second of losing concentration and they score! its not so much inexperience as it is lack of 100% game concentration. rios has plenty of experience.

Longview, Pinetree, Henderson, and toss up for Marshall and Kilgore.
Anyone know how Henderson has done so far this year?

I don't think that there is any way to predict this district this year...anyone can come out and beat any team on any day in this one.
In my opinion this is the Overall toughest district in East Texas! With no real "weak teams" anything could happen.

I agree with wardogs.. This district will come to the last games!!! I would have to say that the 4 teams that come out of this district will be battle tested and ready for the playoffs. Someone out of this district will go really far in the playoffs.
Lindale is the favorite to make it to State in the East Texas area.

This is definately the toughest District around. I don't think we will really know how the postseason will go until
at least halfway through the season. It is definately possible for any of those teams to make the playoffs.
I agree PineTree looks to be the best at this point but in soccer anything could change in an instant. You guys
for sure have some great games to watch. Good Luck!
