I don't know anything about the boys.. but for the top three girls teams--

Nac for 1st..
and I think 2nd could go either way between Jack and Pal

District starts for Palestine on Tuesday and they have Center at home. Center could give a little bit of a game last year.
Not sure what their team looks like this season but we are hoping for a good start to District.

nac will win both girls and boys titles. jacksonville boys will get second with palestine and center fighting for third. i think pal. girls will get second and jack. third

Have you seen Jville play this year? Ummm. They aren't that great! They are struggling a bit. I don't see them beating Palestine twice this year to get second.

i have seen them play several times have you? they waxed mabank 6-0 and tied lufkin 3-3. they are starting to hit their stride and will pound the cats both times. i see the injuns going 10-0 in district

I think it will be J'ville and Palestine fighting for the top spot. Should be interesting.

Yes! I wouldn't really make a comment about them if I hadn't seen them play. We have already played them and
beat them 2-0. Mt. Pleasant beat them 4-0 In either one of those games the Tribe did not move the ball at all. They
just tried to kick it up top and see if the forwards could do anything with it. I'm sure they have talent but they have
had a new coach almost every year the last couple of years. That is pretty rough on a program.

Palestine beat Diboll 8-0, Nac beat Lufkin -Hudson 7-0 and J-ville beat Center 2-0 on 2-13-09

Tues. 17th the Tribe comes to town to take on the Wildcats!

The Palestine Boys team seems to have J-ville's number and I think that they will beat them for the second time this season!!

As for the girls match up, I am calling the Lady Maidens in an upset!! I think that Palestine is the better team "on paper", but that's why we have to play the games.

Jacksonville has just as much if not more talent than the next team including Palestine, but I don't see them winning any close or important games. They are somewhat challenged in the coaching aspect this year. I really would rather not talk bad about anyone, but I don't see any way around it. J'ville was left with 10 starters and the bottom line is they haven't done anything with it. They are playing bad soccer. They won't beat Palestine and they won't beat Nac. I hope that things change for them, because they are much much better than the way I have seen them play.

Maidens & the LadyCats tied 1-1. Very good game with some TERRIBLE refs. Maidens scored in the first half and kept the lead until there were 8 minutes left in the game.

Couldn't agree with you more Tribe on the officials. They were terrible. I know that you will not want to hear this, but Palestine was taken down in the box twice and it wasn't called. Also if the refs knew the game, the yellow card 14 received should have been a Red. You cannot purposely foul a player on a break away to prevent a goal when you are the last defender.

The missed several calls your way as well.

I heard Pal fans screaming at the refs the whole time! They knew nothing!! #14 is very physical and I was suprised she didn't get taken out. That is the second time our sweeper has gotten a yellow. The other was in John Tyler and it was our other sweeper who tore ligaments in her ankle later on in the season. Very exciting and hard fought game both ways! Jville plays Nac Friday in Nac, so we know its going to be tough!!

I agree that the Referees were unable to keep up with the pace of the game. At one time, I felt that the game might be getting out of hand and became a little rough. One of the officials failed to call any fouls. Perhaps she was scared of the repercussions from the coaches and fans. It is difficult to make calls when your positioned 50 yards away from the action. I am okay with a 2 ref system, but the ref's need to be somewhat capable and these officials were definitely not. The players are the ones who suffer and get frustrated. They work hard to get to where they are at, perhaps the referees need some quality training and not just assigned games because they are warm bodies.

I have seen it too many times this season (duals that couldn't keep up). Obviously there is a shortage of Ref's to have so many duals during district play. Wish there was an answer to this problem.
