This is how I feel about this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCLKIcrL61s...feature=related

The show will rock you, there isn't any doubt. Get ready because on August 21st in Dallas, Texas, two great bands and one good band will be showing up. If you live near Houston you can check them out on August 22nd. I like all three, and saw all three last summer and it will be a rocking great time had by all.
cheaptrick77
Ugh -- assuming Cheap Trick is headlining (they better be), I would have to arrive late.

'not sure I could stomach sitting through Poison and Def Leppard ... EVEN to see the great Cheap Trick.

NOW -- if by some wonderful twist of fate, Pete Willis re-joins Def Leppard, Steve Clark is resurrected & they band returns to the UFO sound of their incredible first two LPs, I may reconsider.

I cannot think of any sequence of events that would cause me to watch Poison... whome.gif
DaveTV1
I don't recall Cheap Trick headlining a show in the past 25 years. Cheap Trick will open, followed by Poison, and Def Leppard will be the closing band. So "Breathe a Sigh" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RI9LwhE7V9s , and enjoy what all three bands have to offer you.

Poison knows how to rock a show, unlike Motley Crue which stunk up the stage this past Sunday night. I still can't believe that you didn't like "Pyromania". I own High N Dry and On Through The Night, but Pyro caught my attention. I love Pete Willis, and I think he was given the shaft. That doesn't change how well that Def Leppard, Cheap Trick, and Poison can put on a show. I'm purchasing ILAA tickets for this show. This is almost a dream come true for me.
cheaptrick77
^ the last time I saw Cheap Trick they were headlining: The Damnwells and Wayne Kramer opened.

Cheap Trick opening for Poison and Def Leppard??? w00t.gif Say it ain't so ... BLASPHEMY!

If I go, I will be arriving and leaving early . . .

Pyromania is "listenable", but Hysteria is 100% Grade A drivel. Overproduced dreck.

Cheapy did you see Cheaptrick in Shreveport over Christmas

^ no, sir crying.gif

It was on New Year's Eve & I went to a Stars game...

Wouldn't mind seeing Def Leppard. Maybe I could get someone to call me when Cheap Trick and Poison were almost through so I wouldn't have to listen to that garbage.
cheaptrick77
^ Cheap Trick as "garbage" -- seeing how their roadies have more musical talent than the current Def Leppard lineup, that's a good one

Still not a bad choice, the Stars are always good.
Immortal13
My bad, I forgot about those masterpieces like The Flame, and I Want You to Want Me. LMAO!!!
cheaptrick77
^^ Yep, I have never had a bad time at a Stars game nor a Cheap Trick concert !! smile.gif

^ Unfair -- you brought up one their worst songs (The Flame) ... dig a little deeper, then get back to me! whome.gif

What in the world is wrong with "I Want You To Want Me" ??? It is nowhere near their best song, but far from their worst...

I will dude you on this. Cheaptrick77, and I have never duded you.

Vivian Campbell started off with Ronnie James Dio, then joined Whitesnake when they were in their hey day. David Coverdale decided to go accoustic, and many other bands did as well in the 90's.

I miss Pete Willis and Steven Maynard Clark, but Viv knows how to rock a 6 String. Phil "naked man" Collen while he did start off with a glam band was a part of the "Terror Twins", but he sobered up. If you listen to "Songs From The Sparkle Lounge" you wouldn't recognize the CD as being Def Leppard. :You'd be going, what ? That's Def Leppard ?

Def Leppard still rocks, and I'll be a homer for them. I'll tell you this "Love" kicks "The Flame" out of the water. I'll admit I hated "YEAH" !! I hate covers, but at least they're not doing Beatles covers. "Rock On" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqU9Mu3JSm8 "Magical Mystery Tour" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVZQ02DBsSs

I will agree that both bands don't cover the Romantics : "What I Like About You" Poison cover : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HhALWkJlhY
cheaptrick77
...and the fact that Vivian Campbell now feels "embarrassed" by his Dio days (when he created his best work) is very disappointing no.gif

We will just have to disagree on this one, Dave smile.gif

Sorry Bub, but I'm at least as old as you are, and I've heard more than enough Cheap to last me for the rest of my life. I merely listed the ONLY 2 hits I can remember Cheap ever having. As far as comparing the current line-ups, (if that's the best you can do), I really don't care. Def Leppard is, was, and always will be far better than Cheap.

Hey, it's obvious you like them for some reason and that's fine. To each his own. It was you decided to start ripping on Def Leppard.

The name of the band is Cheap Trick and I have been "ripping on" Def Leppard long before the formation of SDC. It is a DISGRACE the way this once-proud band allowed themselves to move away from their original sound. They are, without a doubt, the biggest waste of talent in Rock & Roll history.

...but you are 100% correct about one thing: To each his own smile.gif

I can attest to the fact that Cheaptrick77 has been ripping on Def Leppard for a long time! rolleyes.gif

Here's the link, Brett Michaels had announced that Leppard and Poison were going on tour. Cheap Trick had such a fun time Down Under with Def Leppard, that their summer break from their Vegas lounge act would be a breathe of fresh air.

Vivian isn't embarrassed about his Dio days or his Whitesnake days. He felt slighted, and now it was a he said, he said. It's all about promotion of the bands, and news is good news.

It's the same thing with the Poison/Def Leppard fight this past year. Here's what many missed : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6mFJqhKIVY .

Would you say the same about The Beatles ?

The Beatles were only around for 9 years, and they changed their sound more than any other band. "Roll Over Beethoven" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suSMTy8PVqY , "Norweigen Wood" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaNQjhXhfVs, "Back In The U.S.S.R." : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LT6OpTRo__Y , and "Because" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bf_twyNOWl4 .

I like it.

No, sir ... The Beatles improved their sound, Def Leppard did not.

Perhaps you should listen to Euphoria or Songs From the Sparkle Lounge. I wouldn't say X or Slang were great CD's, but they're not bad. Just give them a listen, I doubt if you know which CD "Tomorrow" comes off of.

I know how Def Leppard sounded in the early 80's, the mid 80's, the early 90's and the same can be applied to Cheap Trick. I love Cheap Trick, and they get along with me band from Sheffield. Def Leppard with the addition of the Irish bloke, will rock your world.

If you only desire to see Cheap Trick, and not enjoy the sounds of Lep and Poison, that's okay. I know this, anytime Def Leppard is anywhere close to 300 miles, I'll be at their show. I don't care if they're in wheel chairs or life support. Def Leppard sings my songs, as well as The Beatles. That's just my take.

By the way, Happy Birthday to Jon Bon Jovi !!

I thought you'd enjoy the fly over Shea Stadium in the video for "Norwegien Wood".

I went through ILAA, and bought my tickets today. Pre-sale tickets have been announced for the Houston (Woodlands) show for 3/14/08. Dallas is still TBA. Tickets start at $29.50 for lawn (nosebleed seats), then $59.50, $85, $125, $175, and $295.

I have the codes for the Def Leppard Fan Club Tickets for ILAA, which you have to wait after the fan club pre-sale. The $175 tickets guarantee a seat in the first 20 rows. The $295 guarantees seating in the first 10 rows, a gift package, a pre concert party (Phil, Joe, and Sav were at the last one). I've heard that at several venues that not all the members of the bands come to the party, so the $295 5 star VIP package doesn't say which band members will attend at each venue. I can give that code out to anyone. It's best if you use ILAA, if you want good seats.

The fan club codes are very lacking. (I was doing about 4 things, when I was writing this. You'll have to forgive me).
I went online yesterday for the pre-sale and the seats I was offered was 11 rows back, still decent seats for $125 each. I have two passwords for the pre-sale that can only be used once for up to 4 tickets. I'm a Bob Uecker when it comes to concerts. So if anyone wants decent seats U-2 me, and I'll give the codes to the first two that ask for those pre-sale codes. They're good for any Def Leppard show. The same applies to the ILAA Def Leppard code, it can be used at any concert in the states.

I'll admit that I was disappointed that Def Leppard didn't choose CenturyTel Center in Bossier to perform, and I made a case for them.

At the time of my posting, the ticket presale wasn't announced for Dallas. I know the code I gave you will help you find the seats that you want.

I'll be watching VH-1 tonight to see a preview of the upcoming show. Actually, it just started.

Many of you may or may not know that Vivian Campbell's father passed away. I feel for him, because I lost my father as well. I've followed Vivian's career since he was with Dio, Whitesnake, and now Def Leppard. My prayers are with his family, and I don't really know him except by his music. I saw that only Def Leppard and Cheap Trick announced that the concert was posteponed. If any of you are Def Leppard fans, may your prayers be with the family of a great musician. It may not mean anything to some, but I love great guitar work : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eymW6VqWkUA
DaveTV1
It's Viv's birthday today. I've followed his career from Dio, Whitesnake, and I'm glad he's found his home with Def Leppard. I hope those that attended the show had a great time. I'm still waiting for an announcement, and I'm not worried about it.

I know this topic is old, and Def Leppard seems to have gotten over whatever problems that they had. I'll still go see any of the bands listed above.

I think it's amazing that Ringo Starr is a fan of Def Leppard : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaSjOgZIi7I I wouldn't wear a bands T-shirt, unless I was a fan of theirs.
