Congratulations to Longview ISD on the appointment of Louis Robinett as the new Head Band Director. The Lobo band will be in good hands with Mr. Robinett.

My parents went to Longview High in the 50's and I can remember even as a young kid going to see games in the 60's and 70's (and even later as an adult) and the Mean Green Marching Machine was the class of military bands. Grew up in a military band myself and I believe that if Longview ever did change to a corp band - it would be like breaking the 7th seal! The apocolypse would occur! LOL

Ok Mr. Robinett it is your time to keep the Military Style Band but start your own program as for the music selection.Let's get some up to date music playing let the kids get loose and cheer the football team on.No teenager likes to be stagnated let them have fun while playing music because at the end of the day it's about the kids-then we'll get more kids to join the band -let's jam.

The style i love it i've been watching since 1977 but a new selection of music will help.

I really don't see that happening. I don't think he wants the band to play music like Pokerface and Good Girls go Bad. So they play Vehicle , which the band always enjoyed ( at least when I was there), and Hey Baby.

It just seems to me it's all about what he wants but what about the students they deserve to play at least one or two if their favorite up to date song.
