Full Version: Longview Girls
Longview Girls lost to Richardson Pearce 3-0 today....They played outstanding today with a tremendous amount of heart. The game was much more even matched than the score shows. They had an awesome and record breaking season. Good job Lobos!
The Longview Lobos fans are so proud of what the young ladies accomplished. It was a amazing season. Todays game was played at a very high level and hats off to JJ Pearce, they are a good team. This was a 1 goal game until Pearce scored with 16 minutes left to open up a 2-0 lead.
The five seniors were great leaders both on and off the field and will leave a lasting impression. The 2 players that were injured in the semifinal game gave their all and played as much as their bodys would allow.
The four freshman and the sophomore that start showed that they can play with the best, and be great teams players. Next years team should be very strong again with the other club girls that will be moving up. The future is bright for the Lady Lobo Soccer program.
Coach Yoder, thanks for all you do and to all the fans that supported the girls, thanks alot, it meant alot to the young ladies.

Wow, a topic from fan's of a losing team, and not a single word about how bad the officials were. This can't be. Where are all the wonderful quotes that I so much enjoy?
Such as,
"The referees in the match were less than acceptable"
"In spite of the officiating, they were the better team today"
"I am a referee. At this level, I, as well as everyone else, would expect better"
Or maybe the old
I do not want to take anything away from your team but it hard to win when we have to play you and the officials type statements.

From my perspective, most Longview fans are pretty knowledgeable about the game. And truth be told, most of the players also officiate in the local Rec league, so players and parents alike are familiar with what officials do; and whilst on that subject, a great number of area officials are familiar with players from several schools, so there's already an established relationship. I'm sure many schools/areas experience similar things.
