were soccer teammates in 1996 and 1997 at Sulphur Springs High School. Casey Osborn is the head coach at Mesquite Poteet and Aaron Cottrell is the head coach at Mansfield Legacy, both qualified today for the State Tourney. There must be something in the water up there in Hopkins County. Small world.............

Again, congratulations to them both! May the best team win.

If I am correct there are actually 4 coaches who played together at ss that have all had success to a high degree as coaches. Kevin Wright made a deep run with Greenville and now coaches a college team. Andy Holt led his alma mater to the regional final and Casey led Mesquite Poteet to back to back regional finals winning it this year. Along with Cottrel making it to the state tournament this year as well as leading I know at least Red Oak deep one year. I think this really says alot about how soccer has grown to a higher level in east texas. There are other coaches with original roots from east texas that have enjoyed supreme success as well. Congrats to these fine coaches and keep representing east texas!

Yes, there are 4 of them. All 4 have done a great job with their teams and are great coaches. I've worked with both Wright and Osborn. Both are great guys. I do think that an Osborn coached team would hammer a Wright coached team though, LOL

Daryl Faulks is also from Sulphur Springs (though a bit older) and he coached Elgin boys to the regional semi's this year.
