Hildago 3-2 Brenham (0-0 at the half. all 5 goals were scored in a span of about 15-16 minutes to start the 2nd half

Based only on today I would have to go with Hildago but it should be a good match

Hidalgo beat Poteet 2-0
A kid that went to Tyler Lee last year and transfered to Hidalgo for his senior year was the Championship MVP, Bertin Hernandez. Last year Bertin was 2nd team all district in the 5A Tyler/Longview/Mesquite district.
A penalty kick came after the goalie for Poteet (22-5-3) was given a red card from a confrontation with an Early College forward. One other player from each team also received a red card as tempers flared in the final seconds.

It was the second trip to the state tournament for Early College, which lost on a shootout in the 2007 semifinals.

A State Championship!

Bertin is a very good player. I saw him play a several times at Lee when he was a freshman and sophmore. He played quite a bit as a freshman and may have even started; but I can't remember for sure. As a sophmore, he did start. He was very small but may have grown in the past 2 years. He was a very quiet kid with great skill and great control, I wish him the best in his soccer future!

Plano won 3-1; they played Brownsville. Plano went down a goal early in the game but tied it up 1-1 right after. Plano scored again right before the half to go up 2-1 and then the end of the game to make it 3-1 final.
