Ok, the Mavs are in the playoffs! My prediction is they will get the 6th seed and defeat Houston in the first round.
Hot topic in Dallas this week is free agents and trades concerning next year.

1) Shaq says he wants to play in Dallas next year. Mark Cuban has no comment and says Shaq isnt a "top priority" but, they WILL look at that possibility.
2) Cuban also says a large number of big names will become available after the season, and the Mavs are 1 of only 3 or 4 teams, willing to take on big contracts.
3) Apparently the Mavs, according to ESPN, offered New Orleans all of its expiring contracts in exchange for Chris Paul, Tyson chandler and Peja S. New Orleans' owner is VERY "thrifty" and considered it. This would have saved him millions. Apparently the Mavs are gonna offer the same deal again, after this season.

PG Chris Paul
PF Dirk Nowitzki
SF Josh Howard
SF Peja
C Tyson Chandler

Mavericks are back into the spending mood and I love it! This trade probably has a 2% chance of actually happening, but its a idea of how Cuban is thinking. The offseason will be VERY interesting, especially if the Mavs don't make it out of the first round again. Any thoughts?

i dont want it...if we could get just chandler that would be great. chris paul is not going anywhere and peja can't defend..we have enough scorers.

the shaq deal seems more realistic than the cp3 deal...wouldnt be a bad idea, id rather take him than dampierless

i would still rather have chandler. shaq is drawing to the end of his lustrious career while chandlers is at its peek. he does everything a little bit better than damp. scoring, blocking shots, rebounding, defending, ect. and thats all dallas needs...they don't need a big contract from a guy that is garenteed to be short lived in dallas.
