Mayfield is still trying to understand his suspension. NASCAR won't give any information about failed test.
I don't have a problem with the Mayfield suspension, I believe in safety first. The problem I have is that NASCAR won't give Mayfield any info on what the drug or drugs are, they (NASCAR) just said it was a postive test your under suspension PERIOD. Why won't give him in private the results, that way he could deal with it directly.
Now, lets clear the air I'm not a #41 Mayfield fan, I root for Jeff Gordon.

I agree with you nascar should let him know what they found. I really think nascar is trying to keep him out of the sport

It is really disturbing that they will not identify the substance. Mayfield has always been a driver who seemed well liked and respected by his peers. He was one of those drivers I liked to root for, especially while running his own team this year.
Since NASCAR suspended him for a failed test, he wants to know what they found in order to fight the supsension and NASCAR doesn't want to have to defend its test or results. I feel he has the right to know. If I failed a drug test at work I would absolutely want to know what they found.

Well here is some info I found,
Dr. David Black, CEO of Aegis Sciences Corp., which runs nascars testing program, said he specifically identified the drug in several conversations with Mayfield during a three-day period after NASCAR suspended him.
"I spoke with him about his positive test result on the day he was suspended, and I spoke to him directly about the test result," Black said.
"Yes, by name of what drug he tested positive for." On Saturday,
Mayfield said he was never told what drug caused the positive test and has yet to receive a copy of the results. Black said he was not sure if Mayfield has seen the test results because a copy would be issued by NASCAR, not Aegis. NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston said he was not aware of any request by Mayfield to obtain the results.
"We'd be happy to provide one if he wants it," Poston said. "We've done this in the past upon request for those who tested positive.
" Mayfield maintains the use of a prescription drug with over-the-counter allergy medication Claritin-D led to his positive result. Black has repeatedly rejected that explanation. In my best cuban accent,
Somebody has some splaining to do!!!!Source:

I sincerely hope Mayfield wasn't dumb enough to use any recreational drugs. It doesn't look good, not good at all.

This is why when you test positive the drug found in the test should be made public. I have also heard from several sources....NASCAR.COM, FOX TV and SPEED that the drivers do not have a list of drugs they are tested for. How stupid. I am not a "union" sort of guy but heck, the drivers and or their crews might want to think about it just to clear up this sort of thing.

Just read on NASCAR.comwhere the drug Mayfield tested positive for was supposedly Meth. I would say that strengthens his claims about Claritin clear false positive. Who knows how this will play out.

Why in the world would a guy like him want to smoke meth? That is straight up white trash. I really hope that is false.

He would have raced at Daytona but couldn't get his team together in time.

Well he was also going to race this weekend as well but his team dosent have the money and they are trying to sell it. I would be very suprised if we ever see him drive again. Nascar has ruinded him and will end up paying him alot of money.

alot of over the counter drugs can make you test postive for drugs. Lets just wait and see what comes out about his new test

The NFL gives its players a list of OTC drugs to avoid....does NASCAR do the same......

Mayfield popped positive for methamphetamine again.
However he still denies it.
His stepmother is testifying against him!
She says : "Between 1998 and 2005, I am personally aware that Jeremy used methamphetamines often," she said in her affidavit. "I was concerned about his heavy use and talked to his father about it. I saw Jeremy use methamphetamine by snorting it up his nose at least 30 times during the seven years I was around him. Jeremy used methamphetamine not only in my presence, but also when we were both in the presence of others."
Heres the story :
Mayfield pops positive again : LINK

My momma always told me that where there's smoke, there's fire......TWO positives tell me that it's time for him to go....NASCAR needs to resuspend him.......if they haven't already......

I don't know alot about meth but Jeremy Mayfield doesn't look like someone who is hooked on meth!! I have personally seen what being hooked on meth can do to a person and what it can turn them into physically and mentally and it just doesn't all add up to me!!
One thing that is puzzling to me is that you have NOT heard one word from his wife about the whole situation, and if he was hooked on something like that surely she would know!!
If it were my husband that was being accused of something like this and I knew he was innocent and it affecting my family emotionally and financially as surely this is I would be claiming his innocence from the roof tops and fighting right along side him!!
If this is all a farce then NASCAR and the step-mom better watch out, but if not shame on you Jeremy Mayfield and you deserve to be kicked out by NASCAR!
Just my opinion!!

I think theres still more to it. In the article it said that he was tested at another facility and it came up negative.

Joker was sounding pretty messed up on that phone interview, Gonna sue the France's (That statement signed his death warrant as far as driving a cup car). Filing a wrongful death suit against his step mother, say's she murdered his father, yada yada yada. Kinda started sounding like a crack head. I'm with col'sneil, 2 failed tests, that's like saying I'm to stupid, or high to get clean before the second test. Guilty, sell your stuff, and write a book!

Why is he JUST NOW deciding to file a wrongful death suit against his step-mom, his father passed 2 years ago?? I never heard a word about this until she testified against him!! Jeff Hammond made the comment that Mayfield needs to just close his mouth at this point and go get the help he needs for his problem!! Guilty or not I am sure he is DONE as far as ever being part of NASCAR ever again!

Read that he sold his team. I really hate to see all this happen. He was always one of my favorite underdogs.
