If it ends up being the Lakers and Cavaliers then yes it is probably fixed. $$$$$$$$

I don't think that the NBA fixes the playoff games, but I do feel they have a strong influence on who wins. Say you are an official, and the league office contacts you saying you are doing a good job and if they like what they see in certain matchups that they could get a chance to call the finals. Not mention a nice little bonus that might be headed their way. I have no knowledge of whether officials get bonuses for calling the Finals, but you gotta believe they throw that bone out there. Otherwise, touch fouls for big stars/teams would also be called for a lesser known player/smaller market team. Cleveland is by no means a big market team, but they have one of the 2 best players in the league. If it does not end up being Cavs & Lakers, then I will be both shocked and amazed. It would blow my mind if it was Magic & Nuggets.

I would say bent but not broken... I think they can influence who the want to win and they can try to get the refs to make calls either way. But the teams still have to make the clutch shots to win. Also all of these games will go to 7 games, because the more games they play, the more money the NBA gets. I would love to see Orlando and Denver win their conferences, but I do not see it happenening at all. I believe Orlando really shocked everyone going up 3-1, but I do not think it will last. So I think it is rigged a lil bit, mainly for money. But whoever makes it too the finals, i believe the league will let them play for the true winner, not go as far to rig the champion.

No. thumbsup.gif I think they just have some poor officials. Not all of them. Also, a few that like to have all of the attention at times. TV time........

I will always believe that Kareem Abdul Jabbar traveled on EVERY sky hook he took. thumbsup.gif

Just my personal opinion, I think that every major sport is fixed in some manner or other.....Wrestling is just honest enough to admit it.....

I haven't watched an NBA game since they put in that stupid "no charge" semi-circle under the basket. This allowed the marquee players to pick up their dribble outside the lane, take as many steps as they want (how many walking penalties are called any more?), and finish with their high-flying, 360 slam dunks. Instead of the "no charge" zone, it should be called the "no defense" zone. From that point the NBA has taken on an "exhibition sport" standing with me.

Yes.

The NBA has been a friggin joke for a long, long time. Most players can't shoot, dribble or play defense. Funny, a lot of them could when they got into the league, but then they forget. Their lack of fundamentals has let the rest of the world catch up in regard to the quality of play. The refs are awful. Better refs in JH basketball games.

I wouldn't attend an NBA game if you gave me free tickets.

Oh, the question. Yes the games are fixed.

Yep

There are enough rules in the NBA and the NFL that allow the refs to swing games one way or the other. Seen it toooo many times. I know a guy that used to think he could pick games pretty good and started betting with a bookie. He about went broke. One thing he started noticing was how a "meaningless" call here or there would always go Vegas's way.

Without a doubt

No I dont think the NBA fixes games...think about how much money the league makes and ONE fix by the league itself would destroy the league. Also for a league to actually fix it would mean ALOT of people would have to be in on it and I just dont think the league could keep them all quiet forever on it.

Now..do refs play favorites or have teams/players/coaches they might not like, or call fouls and such a laittle closer, yep I do. But I dont think there is a league mandate that says hey we want Team A to win the title this year no matter what.

the NBA does not fix games, but it isnt hard to tell if a ref has a rooting interest.
