Just wanted to start a NEW Topic about next years predictions!!

Kind of getting tired of looking at the same old posts and topics.

Put your thoughts out there for (boys and girls) playoff teams, district champs, district standings, etc.

Nac boys will be favored again sweatingbullets.gif

I am sure the Nac girls will be favored as well.

How does the rest of the district pan out, that is the question!

Lindale is only losing about half the number of seniors as the other 4 teams in the Region 2 Tourney, so i expect to see them do well next year.
eaglepride13
Lindale will be back and kickin....losing 5 seniors I think, they will do good again because they have "THE TWINS" back for their senior year.

They also have many good juniors and sophmores coming back.

I think the Mt. Pleasant boys will be the team to beat, considering how they played at the end of the seaason. And how few of the players they lost

They might be ok, but watch out for those SS wildcats. I have heard great things about them and expect them to be headed to the tournament. They have a phenomenal Coach and a superb Asst. Coach that is on the verge of big things himself. There is absolutely no reason they shouldn't win it all. I have watched many games and seen them win games simply by the adjustments their staff make at half. NOTICE HAS BEEN ISSUED!

I agree. I heard they were ready to make a run out there. I have seen my share of games as well and also have to agree that they make great adjustments and could win games with 8 players if they had to. SS is very lucky to have hit the jackpot with these 2 up and coming studs.

if they are so salty at coahing then why havent they made a big run before. you guys talk trash every year and lose by the 2nd round and if you got past the 2nd it was cuz the comp was to easy.

Yeah, Regional Finals wouldnt be considered a big run, and if I remember correctly they beat a very good Athens team to get there. Choke on it toohot.

On the girls side I feel that it will be a close race again in our district between, Lindale-Chapel Hill-Whitehouse for the top spot! A lot of changes for these schools for next season!!

As far as CH goes, we have a new coach coming thumbsup.gif Ashley Aparicio our awesome midfielder will be back for her Sr. year thumbsup.gif The entire team will be veteran players (don't know of any freshman players coming in) thumbsup.gif We have a new AD that is great and as excited about the girls athletic program as he is the boys!! thumbsup.gif So hopefully CH Lady Bulldogs will have a great season in 2010!!

How does the rest of the district pan out, that is the question!

I predict the Nac girls to be stong contenders as usual for the District, and expect Jacksonville and Palestine to battle for the second spot. Jacksonville should have an awesome sweeper coming back to control the defense, but Palestine will have multiple players coming back that have quickness and whom will be difficult to keep up with the entire game.

My predictions;
1. Nac
2. Palestine
3. Jacksonville
kash
PINE TREE
LONGVIEW
HENDERSON
MARSHALL
KILGORE
HALLSVILLE
WHOS LEFT

This year will be interesting between CH girls and Lindale girls for sure! Lindale lost 8 or 9 seniors, and that's gonna hurt. But we also have some good solid juniors coming up that have been playing for many years in rec. with those outgoing seniors, so that old team isn't gone yet :-) I'm glad to hear Ashley Aparicio is in good shape and will be returning. She's a really good player and should have an awesome senior year!! FYI, I hear Coach Hicks won't be coaching the girls soccer program next season. Might just be a rumor, but that's what's going around town. I just hope we don't wind up with a tennis, golf or volleyball coach this time. :-)

From what I understand the Lindale coach will be leaving the team and going into administration and after talking to some of the Lindale parents they are worried about who is going to replace him also!!

There's been no lindale girls opening posted on any of the coaches sites. Either it's not open or they are hiring from within.

who got the lindale girls job?

jax girls will get 2nd and jax boys will win district and knock nac off the top.

Lindale hired a good one. He's a soccer guy and comes from being an assistant at a successful boys program.

What can you tell us about him? I heard he was a assistant coach and that he is young.
futbolfan
LONGVIEW
pinetree/henderson (could go either way, im pulling for pine tree to beat henderson without Lee's)
Marshall
Hallsville
Kilgore

Longview beat out pine tree, and tore up henderson, with returners and some more new club players they should take the prize easily, probably going deep in playoff once again.

lindale longview rematch coming up? probably. lets hope so to see some good soccer.

He's definitely more ambitious than the former Girls coach, he is more prompt and works the girls harder, but he fell into one of those seasons that has to recover from a very very strong graduating class, so we might not see the results we want right off, but i think in the long run he will be better for the girls team.

First place is a no brainer. It's the 4th spot the will be a close race.

1. Nacogdoches
2. Jacksonville
3. Palestine
4. Center/ Diboll/ Hudson

Does anyone know anything about Diboll/Hudson/Center

If I remember correctly, Diboll lost its star player, and Hudson lost a couple of decent players too. I have no idea about Center though. I know they were young last year.
eaglepride13
Lindale boys will win in regionals and go to state.....just my prediction right now....they have many great player. The twins are back for senior year, and there are alot of very good juniors and sophmores left. They did lose the flash and 4 other good players last year. I think that there will be a bitter taste in their mouth from losing last year in the regional finals to poteet. Look for them to take it to the next level this upcoming season.

They will get challenged very early this year so we will see. This year their schedule is alot more difficult than last years. Dont count out Mt.Pleasant. They didnt lose many starters either.

Is UIL reclassification next season?

1. Nac

2. Pal

3. Jac

4. Center

I think the seniors at Palestine beg to differ about NAC being the "obvious candidate" for the district.

I see that happening for both the boys and girls side. I hope Palestine can give Nac a fight in both sidesl, but watch out for Jacksonville.

Farshid always has a very good group down there in nac but i belive this year will be close between the top three. Jax did lose eight starters but is very talented still and many of those underclassmen seen a good bit of time last season. they will be very competitive with anyone as they usually are..

gracetyler14
I know not much mention of private schools here but Grace has very good soccer teams both boys and girls. The boys team lost in Regional last year and girls team in playoffs. Boys team has two 2nd Team All-State TAPPS players to watch from last year. Grace boys should put in a good state run. Girls have some very talented players and hope to go deeper in playoffs this year.

The girls team usually plays several of the local schools. Boys team doesn't play as many local school in soccer but I am sure would love to and avoid travel to Dallas all the time.

Good luck to all this season.

Pine Tree graduated most of their talent. The big fast players that Pine Tree has had in the previous years are not there anymore. They only have 3 players on the team that played varsity last year.

I'm not terribly familiar with the PT program or the district in general. However, I find it hard to believe that a traditionally strong program that made a deep playoff run last season would not even qualify for the playoffs this season. With so much senior talent last year, it's entirely possible that many of their JV players would have been on varsity at most schools.

Agree, I find it hard to believe that a team like Pine Tree wouldn't make the playoffs but stranger things have happened. Try winning a state title one year and not even making the playoffs the next year in the exact same district. Sometimes you just have to rebuild with young players after losing a lot to graduation. Just throwing that out as an example. I have no clue what Pine Tree has or doesn't have.
