I believe this won't be a low scoring game. Both offenses will put pressure on the opposing defenses. Celina has a good SR pitcher but she's not any better than the one's Spring Hill has already faced on the road to Austin. Like I said Celina has good sticks 1-8 and will put the ball in play.

Gotta go with my Spring Hill friends. Kayla has really showed great poise and toughness on the mound and this team's offense is a scoring machine. Keep applying tha pressure! Remember, SPEED KILLS!!!!!!

Spring Hill 6 - Celina 4 Winner moves on and wins STATE!!!!!!!
equalizer
Celina had better bring their A-Game........

Don't think SH can hold down this offense. Kylie gets alot of movement on the ball and will keep the slappers off balance with the chin music ! I do think however that this is the championship game. Winner should take it all. Good luck to both teams. Spring Hill has climbed a mountain to get here, good job !

I think SH will do fine against Celina pitching. SH has faced some of the best pitching around the State to get to this point and has come through. My biggest concern about SH in this game is defense. It appears from looking at Celina's resume' they will indeed put the ball in play. If SH has one weakness it is defense. SH did not win district because in both game against Bullard they made multiple errors. They had 7 errors in their loss to Splendora and 2 or 3 in their game 3 win. They had another error in their win over Huntington. If Celina puts the ball in play, could be a problem for SH. Having said all that, I think SH takes this game and wins it all. Should be a great game. I am looking forward to watching it live.

No doubt about Celina putting the ball in play. They probably should have won game 1 against the Vandals, couldn't catch a break and the Van defense is really good. Celina hit the ball at people all game long. Listened to a couple of the Spring Hill Splendora games and to be honest , Spring Hill pulled a rabbit out of their hat !! Way to many errors on both sides in the 3rd game. But that is why they play the game. They will have to play good defense against Celina or this one will get uuuuuuggly !!! Would like to see SH bring it home but have seen both play and don't think it will be close. I think the state championship was played last Friday and Sat. in Duncanville. Celina 9-2

I have to go with Spring Hill in this one simply on the path that they went through to get there. Beating the three (potential D1) pitchers that they beat in 18 3A during the playoffs says they can score runs on anyone. I understand that Celina has a good one as well and in a one game series who knows what will happen.
If I was beating my $$ it would be on Spring Hill.

You guys from the 18 3A region just simply amaze me with all your D1 pitchers. You seem to forget that it takes a TEAM to get you anywhere. Yes a D1 pitcher definately has its advantages but a good pitcher with 8 other good players can get you just as far or futher. Spring Hill is a good TEAM or they wouldn't be there. They didnt just beat your potentially D1 pitchers, they beat your whole TEAM. Celina also has a good Pitcher and a good TEAM that beat a very good Van TEAM with just an average pitcher(but they where good or they wouldnt have been where they where). These two team deserve to be there simply just bc they are good TEAMs!!!! Good luck to them both. Go get'm Kayla & your teammates.

Dude chill out and stop getting your drawers ruffled. I was giving Spring Hill some love for beating three good pitchers. I just referred to them as D1 because I thought that is where they would end up IMO. Sorry if that upset you.
18 3A has some very good pitching and Spring Hill beat them all, no if ands or buts. I was acknowledging that Spring hill must have a good TEAM to beat those pitchersand their TEAMS.

Spring Hill's TEAM hit all those pitchers and won the game over the 18 3A TEAMS. Is that better???

Man can you not take a pat on the back.

Oh and let me say also that the pitcher from Spring Hill is very good. I was not trying to say in any fashion that she was not on par with the ones in 18 3A. I have just seen those girls more often. In the games I saw her pitch she was very good. She looked to me to be a D1 pitcher as well.

Kylie Roos Sr. Celina Pitcher signed a National Letter of Intent to play D1 college softball at Northwestern State in Lousiana.

Don't know why "you guys" are so touchy at the mere mention of D1 pitchers. If you can find any post or thread from Dist. 18 3A degrating the TEAM concept then please find it and let us read it otherwise we look forward to seeing you guys at a tournament next year. Huntington won STATE last year because they had a GREAT TEAM! Spring Hill and Celina are in Austin because they have great teams with great pitchers as well!

Go Spring Hill! Will be there to support you in the morning!

You obviously did not understand my post. I have nothing bad to say about D1 pitchers. May they be as successful or more successful than the Jr college pitchers that they have pitched against throughout their season. If you want to read back on other post you can. I've read enough over the past 4 months to remember the many post repeatedly mentioning the great D1 pitchers. And I'm sure they are great. The point I'm trying to make without having to spell it out to these posters is that while their pitchers are great, so is the rest of their team. It is a TEAM concept. Good luck to the Spring Hill team without your D1 Pitcher.

Well, are defense was not up to par, not as bad as the Splendora series but enough to cost us a couple of runs...but when you only score 1 its hard to win against a team that can hit from top to bottom. A throwing error by the SH 3rd baseman (1 run), a hit batter (1 more run). they gave Williams an E on a bunt she mishandled but honestly dont think she had a chance for a play if she fields it cleanly. It came down to hitting and they came to hit....simple as that....but nonetheless...they had a great year and my hats off to them.

The fact is Celina outhit SH. They put the bat on the ball and SH did not. I cannot remember a game in a long time where SH only had two hits. As i said before the game, SH was susceptible to errors and they did rear their ugly head, and cost a couple of runs. But in the end Celina's hitting on that morning was better than SH's. That was the difference. I think both teams were very good, but Friday was Celina's morning and not SH's. Shocked that Celina did not win it all. I saw the Needville v. Gatesville game and really thought Celina had a much better team. However, that is why you play the game.

Congratulations to SH on an incredible season and especially to Kayla Williams and Allison Brown, the two seniors on the team. You guys have done wonders for the SH program. We will miss you dearly.

cowboy1, I too thought Celina would win it all...I was at the other 3A game and wasnt impressed as much as I was with Celina's team. Your also correct as to why SH didnt fare any better than Celina...They came to hit and we didnt hit.simple as that...I too cant remember the last time SH had 2 hits...very unusual...not sure what happened but they did have a GREAT year...

Also, congrats to the 2 seniors for SH...your last year and you get to go to the big dance...This team doesnt get there without the pitching of K. Williams. Not taking anything away from the other players but considering they really dont have another solid pitcher on their squad, it was KW that led the way....Great season and good luck at TWA...and Allison Brown...Congrats on a great senior season...You had your best year yet...Gunna miss you and Kayla!!

Congrats Spring Hill on a good season.

Well it's time to close the book on another year of HS softball!

Congratulations to Spring Hill for having a great year! Best of luck to Kayla at Texas Womens University! You are a D1 talent no doubt, but I know you want to be a nurse and they have a great nursing and softball program as well! Whatever you choose to do in life you'll be successful!
