I was an unbiased spectator at the Troup vs Linden softball series at Lear Park 2 weeks ago and witnessed the worst fans I have ever seen in my entire life. The Troup fans were crying and yelling after every pitch throughout the 3 game series. During game 1 a fan was escorted out and during games 2 and 3 muliple fans were escorted out by their own school superintendent who had to wear out a good pair of shoes walking in and out. I was so embarrassed for the fans from Linden and the Lear Park people.

At one time a fight was going on behind the Troup dugout between 2 women, one was the coaches wife who was confronted by a fan from Franklin who came to settle a score their previous game a week earlier. What took the cake was the fans were yelling obscene language at the Linden catcher, that was completely off the chain. The Linden fans were asked to stay in the gate for 20 minutes or so and then they were escorted out by Longview Police.

I can't believe Linden hasn't complained about this, and I hope someone wrote UIL a letter concerning the Troup fans and coaches behavior.

not a fan of either team....but did attend the last two games and there was multiple ejections....personally I thought it was kind of funny and asked those with me if they wanted to sit on the troup side since they was running out of fans...didnt see any reason to call uil, or why the coach would be at fault though his responsibility is what happens on the field not outside the fence, ....there was also a warning given to some linden fans by the umpire so troup was not alone in such behavior just a little louder with it.

sbyall247 and palmuppalmdown are mistaken on quite a few different specifics. I know exactly what happened and why in each of the instances that were brought up and if you don't know specifics than you shouldn't get on here "3 weeks later" just to bad mouth people that you don't know because you "were so shocked you had to say what was on your mind". If you are an unbiased spectator than you don't know what you are talking about. If you want to spread rumors and gossip go on Jerry Springer, otherwise get a life.

First of all, get a life! That just proves that some people should not be allowed to breed and some people should not have access to a public forum. I am extremely informed as to the specifics of the LK-Troup series. #1- You don't know why the fans were so irate and they had good cause to be because the LK coach had called everyone he knew trying to get the officials to call illegal pitches on the Troup pitcher even though she had not been called all year. #2 The lady that got in a fight was not from Franklin trying to settle a score she was from Troup and was going after the coach's wife because she has a long history in Troup/Carlisle of confrontation and had said 10 minutes before that she was wondering what she could do to get thrown out of the game. #3 The LK catcher the whole time was talking trash to the Troup batters and was warned 4 times to be quiet but was never removed. It sounds like you really don't know what you are talking about. If you would like to start drama or talk about someone go get on Jerry Springer, otherwise be an "unbiased spectator" and stay that way.

Thanks for clearing that up!!!! I didn't realize that a coach calling an umpire was a good reason for fans to act like idiots and to get ejected!! Now I know that it is perfectly acceptable to act a fool when things do not go our way!!!

sound like coachc45 woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning and didn't read his post very well before replying. The point was that this person blasting Troup had no idea what was going on and was making uninformed assumptions and accusations. I did not defend Troup fans nor their actions. If people want to embarrass themselves that is their business. I stated they had a reason to be irate, not act a fool. It bothers me when people get on public forums and make uninformed or rediculous claims just because they can type, for example saying I am setting a good example in a sarcastic manner. Who exactly would I be setting a good example for? The extremely wise masses of Smoaky.com? Wow! Sounds like you're just looking for something/someone to criticize today.

Sounds like fans from both teams should be on Springer!!

i have been a Detroit Tigers fan all my life, this year i feel that the TIgers are gonna be in the top 3 this year no doubt, with the new GM, he did manage the Worls Series Champs Marlens, so u never no i cant wait to see our new pitcher Kenny Rogers, not the old singer, the camara hatter
