Metallica-Whiskey in the Jar. Sorry CT77, I know you'll probably lobby f/Thin Lizzy on this one. And
I will say that T.L. did a better job than the Greatful Dead.

Seether should have just left that song alone.. both version are horrid..much like the bands that sing/sang it. But the worst is Killswitch Engage version of Holy Diver by Dio...talk about terrible.

I love the Chili Peppers pick, forgot about that
I can't imagine someone doing Ballroom Blitz better than Sweet.
it's not a remake but the best rap sample of all time is in Hey Ladies, (Beastie Boys), when out of nowhere it takes a sample of Sweet singing "she thinks she's the passionate one"
the band Goldfinger is terrible but they accidentally got something right when they remade 99 Luft Balloons, it's pretty cool

Now remember I never said they were better, just wanted some opinions. But Bizkit does do it well on this one!!! Also, Smoking in the Boys room by Motley Crue (Brownsville Station) probably charted higher than the original.

Mötley Crüe -- #16 in 1985
