Sabine went on the road Friday night and totally dominated every facet of the game in overpowering the West Rusk Raiders, 16-0. This brings their season record to 4-0.

Whether on the mound (NO HITTER, 14K's), at the plate (12-0 margin in hits), or on the base paths (14-0 stolen bases), the stats on the scorebook reflected the final numbers on the scoreboard ... definitely in the Nationals' favor.

While Dakota Stewart, Dylan Cook, and Jared Streeter controlled the game from the mound, a batting trio of Cook, Streeter, and Zack Martin led the offensive barrage at the plate.

Observations from the front row through the eyes of Dakota Stewart's mom ....
(1) How dominating was the Sabine win?
(a) How about a quick look at the major stat totals on the scorebook? Here's the comparative game stats:
............................................................. ................................................................... .............................. Sabine
............... SABINE ......... thumbsup.gif .............. thumbdown.gif ............ W/RUSK .................. thumbsup.gif ................ thumbdown.gif ......... Over/(Short)
At Bat ......... 29 ............... * ................... -- .................. 15 ........................ -- ..................... -- ................ 14
Runs ........... 16 .............. * .................... -- .................... 1 ........................ -- ..................... -- ................ 15
Hits ............ 12 ............... * .................... -- ................... -- ......................... -- ..................... -- ................ 12
Stl Base ..... 14 ............... * .................... -- .................... -- ........................ -- ..................... -- ................ 14
KO's ............. 7 ............... -- ................... -- ................... 14 ........................ -- ..................... * ................ (7)
RBI ............. 16 ............... * .................... -- .................... -- ........................ -- .....................-- ................ 16

The only “positive stat” West Rusk won was the ASSIST Stat, 6-2. Why?
Sabine only had two assists because ...
... Only one ball was hit into play ... an out (1-3).
... The 3rd baseman got an assist from a pick-off rundown of the West Rusk lead-off hitter, who walked ... all the way to 3rd (two more walks followed).
-- A throwing error (E-2) during the run-down allowed the Raiders to score their only run.

(b) Three more stats that support the final score ...
-- All eleven Sabine players had an RBI.
-- All nine West Rusk players “KO’ed” at least once.
-- All sixteen Sabine runs scored via an RBI for the first time this season.
... No scoring by error, wild pitch, passed b.all, steal of home, or balk.

(2) POPTEST TIME!!! Who are the following people – Stewart, Cook, and Streeter?
(a) An up-and-coming sports agent firm.
(b) A double play combination ... Stewart to Cook to Streeter.
© Three lucky Sabine athletes who are dating the good-looking Anderson triplets, who are also sophomore cheerleaders.
(d) Three National pitchers who can legally smoke ... their fastball, that is.

If you’ve seen any of the first three Sabine games, you know that Dakota Stewart and Jared Streeter are the HOSSES that the Nationals have ridden to a 3-0 record to-date. Call them The Terminators, Speed Inc, or The KO Express ... but gotta call 'em good .....
3 Games ..... Inn’g ... Outs ... K’s .... W’s ... Hits .... Runs .... Erned
Stewart ........ 11 ....... 33 ..... 30 ..... 10 ....... 2 ........ 3 ........... 2
Streeter ......... 6 ........18 ..... 14 ....... 1 ....... 3 ........ 2 ........... 1
TOTAL ........... 17 ....... 51 .... 44 ...... 11 ....... 5 ....... 5 ............ 3
... Streeter has the better control ... Stewart has the hotter flame.

Coach Cook decided to add “son” Dylan Cook to the pitching staff for the West Rusk game. Did he ever come through!! And did the TRIO ever come through ... with a NO-HITTER!!!
Pitcher ............... Inn’g .......... Runs ...... Erned ........ Hits ........ KO’s ......... Walk .......... HBP
Stewart ................ 2 ................ 1 ............. -- ............. -- ............ 6 ............... 5 ............... 1
Cook .................... 1 ................ -- ............. -- ............. -- ............ 2 .............. -- .............. --
Streeter ............... 2 ................ -- ............. -- ............. -- ............ 6 ............... 2 .............. --
TOTAL .................. 5 ................ 1 ............. -- ............. -- ........... 14 ............... 7 ............... 1
-- The only out in the field? A comeback to Cook in the 3rd inn’g (1-3)
-- Yes, Stewart continued with the walk problem, but when you’re “KO’ing” batters, it’s hard to get the base runners home.

(3) Three National players had multi-hit games to lead the team to a 12-hit , 16-run offensive outburst ...
............................... AB ....... R ....... H ....... RBI ...... W .... HBP ..... SB
Dylan Cook ............. 4 ........ 2 .........4 ........ 3 ........ -- ....... -- ........ 3 ... 2B (2)
Zack Martin ............. 3 ........ 2 ........ 2 ........ 2 ........ 1 ........ -- ........ 2 ... 2B
Jared Streeter ......... 4 ........ 2 ........ 2 ........ 1 ........ -- ....... -- ........ 2 ... 3B
Tell DeFreece .......... 1 ........ 1 ........ 1 ........ 1 ........ 2 ........ -- ........ 1 ... 2B
Blake McCann ......... 2 ........ 2 ........ 1 ........ 2 ........ 1 ........ -- ........ 2 ... HR
Dakota Stewart ...... 2 ........ 2 ........ 1 ........ 1 ........ -- ........ 1 ........ 1 ..
Cook not only led Sabine in hitting Friday night, but also pitched a perfect 3rd inning, striking out two.

(4) Under the “Looks the same but really a HUGH difference” category ...
1st Inn’g (First two batters) ...
-- Jared Streeter ........ on 3rd, waiting for the 1st pitch to the next batter.
-- Spencer Gregory .... on 3rd, waiting for the 1st pitch to the next batter.

-- No problem ... both batters hit triples, right? Not exactly ...
... Streeter tripled to lead off the game, and reached 3rd.
... Gregory reached on an error (E-3). Before throwing to the plate, the pitcher attempted a pick-off at first base. Missed throw by first baseman (E-3) and Gregory reached 3rd.

(5) The extra-base parade rolled on Friday night. The Nationals have had multi extra-base hits in all four games this season.
