Any of you Longview fans know if Allen will be bringing their 600+ member band to Lobo Stadium on Friday? If so, there won't be any room for the Allen fans to sit.

I was wondering about that too, it will be interesting to see. I guess we will find out Friday night.

Word I've gotten (it's unofficial) is that the Allen band is indeed coming to Longview and that both bands will be seated in end zone bleachers to make more room in the grandstands. LISD is expecting a HUGE crowd for the game between 5A No. 2 Allen and 4A No. 1 Longview.

Wow...what an incredible sight and sound it is to see that band live. They will LITERALLY cover the field.

Allen's band was around 670 at the Lobo game tonight. They looked and sounded amazing, they made Longview's 170 piece band look small.

It was actually closer to 500, before the game, Pat Collins, the AD for Longview was talking to a guy that was sitting next to me. He said 672 to be exact, rumors can get out of hand pretty quickly.

Was the bands performance any good. I know when you see that many kids come on the field it came be a big WOW factor, but was that all it was?

Pretty much. Loud block chords and marching files north and south. That was about it. Their drill team danced to Copa Cabana, that was the best part. But you can't really judge a band on their first performance of the year. I saw Allen at area a few years ago, they were very good.
