Sulphur Springs had a huge following for the season opener on friday night. As many as the home team no doubt. So what was the deal with the Paris band being on the visitor side when there are 50 yards of stands in the endzone? Not complaining, it was a good game. I just found it a bit odd.

Probably because most of the teams we play don't have a huge following. There was a big crowd there Friday night. I'm not sure there would have been room in the end zone for them either.

Yea maybe, although i'm not so sure there wasn't enough room on their side. Plus if all that space on our side that they were taking was open then there would have been alot of room left in the endzone. Oh well, its neither here nor ther. Like i said, just thought it was strange.

That is our assigned seating for every home game. A few years ago we were assigned the end zone and the students were really disconnected from the game. It is also more beneficial from a performing standpoint to be facing our crowd rather than the scoreboard and to separate the Band and Dance Team from the crowd that ends up in the overflow section. No disrespect is intended to any visiting fans and the overflow section is adequate to handle fans from both the home and visitor sides.

Thanks for the response, its certainly understandable that the fan experience of the home fans and students should be the top priority. Like I said earlier, it wasn't meant to be a complaint. It was more a byproduct of SS fans traveling well. All the best to the Paris band and team in '09. By the looks of things you guys may be in for a long run this winter.
