I agree, but hopefully we can get lucky in the Wild Card. Although, even if they do make the playoffs, I don't see them getting past the first round.

I'm still holding out hope that they win the WC but they are going to have to get MY and JH back asap.

Even if they don't make it they have had a tremendous year and I can really look forward to next spring.

I'm hoping for the wild card. If they don't make the playoffs though, I still will look at this season as a successful one.

getting the wildcard would be huge for the rangers. it just comes down to how close they can get in the next few weeks.

I think they will win 5 of the 7 games they have remaining with the Angels and win the division dramatically on the last day of the season...

For that to happen, the Rangers would have to play their absolute best baseball. Meaning, not blowing big leads! They will need hot bats and spot on pitching. They can do it, but honestly I really don't see it happening. I love the Rangers and I support them %100, but I don't see them winning the division this season. Winning the Wild Card is pushing it.

^ not beyond the realm of possibility ... I have seen lesser teams reach the post-season

With their head to head games with the Angels they may have a better shot at winning the division than the WC. texrangers.gif

I say KUDOS to CheapTrick for his post!

It has been amazing to me how involved Rangers fans have been with the team making the playoffs via the Wild Card. Throughout August, the team has been within striking distance of LAA based on their remaining games against each other. For whatever reason, though, everyone is quick to assume they have no chance at catching the Angels.

I don't think they'll make the playoffs at all, but its nice to see someone actually believe the Rangers have a chance at the division.

That is what I am thinking as well. Originally, my thoughts were the Red Sox would falter down the stretch but here lately it seems that both the Angels and the Red Sox are playing great baseball. Then again, with exception of a few games, the Rangers are ALSO playing good baseball.

In the end, looking at the schedule for all 3 teams, I would have to say the Rangers are looking better as Western Divisional Champions than Wild Card participants. texrangers.gif

The "mighty" Los Angeles Angels' record vs. the AL West this season:

19-23

WIth the record the Rangers are puting up against some of the top teams this season, I like our chances in the playoffs so long as we can make it there.

23 games left. 1 1/2 games back of bosox. its going to be an exciting finish. will the rangers win 90 games?
WestwoodPantherPride
^ they should get over 90 wins, i'm thinking about 95. all that really matters is that they get one more than the angels and i really do think that it will happen. i'm looking for a division title this year, not a wild card.

I would love to see the Rangers in the postseason. They look very tired and are not playing very well.
Injuries have come at a bad time. We will be at the game Sunday cheering loud and proud.

I am dissapointed in the comment made by Ian Kinsler saying the fans have not been supportive. We have been to nine games this year; number 10 Sunday. It is a two hour drive one way. We can not attend games on school nights but we love the Rangers. It is hard for working people to attend games during the week. Do not blame the fans for poor performances by professional athletes.

GO RANGERS

^ where is the direct quote where Kinsler blamed the fans for their recent slump? ermm.gif

'simply sounds like two mutually exclusive facts to me unsure.gif
