Now we all know Iverson is nearing the end of his career but I was wondering what people thought about him ending up in Memphis as the newest member of the Grizzlies. They might not be much better than usual, but at least they'll have some buzz and some nice jersey sales. They do have a very nice nucleus though with A.I., Mayo, Rudy Gay, Zach Randolph, Mike Conley Jr., Darrell Arthur and Hasheem Thabeet.

it might boost attendence. with a young team like that .... idk. take minutes away from somebody who might have a future. its memphis so it dont make too much sense. lol

Practice are we talking about PRACTICE? lol

Iverson's career is about over. His minus's out weigh his plusses.

Denver got rid of him and got better,,,,,,,,,,,,, way better.

He didn't do anything for Detroit either.

I've never liked Iverson, he is a selfish player and not a good teammate. Memphis is young but has some of the best growing talent on any team. I don't think he is a good leader or someone these younger pros should be looking to for answers.

If he could except his roll as a player off the bench then I would take him in a heart beat!

Hes the most selfish player in the NBA. I don't see this flying well with a team like Memphis who's a team of the future.

I agree 100%. He would be a great 6th man. Now whether he would do it is something to ponder. If he would accept
the roll & embrace it I'd love to have him with the Mavs

I don't care about Iverson so much....however, former Tyler Junior College standout Trey Gilder was signed by the Grizzlies last week! Trey was part of the 2007-2008 Regular Season Region 14 Championship Team for Coach Mike Marquis. Trey went on to star at Northwestern State (La) and was 1st team All-Southland Conference his senior year.

Way to go Trey! (My signed basketball just went up in value! LOL)

Agreed. If people take their personal feelings out of it and look at his body of work, they will find that AI has been one of he most prolific players of his era. A lot of good basketball players are selfish. Mr. Kobe Bryant is as selfish as they come, yet we have to admit that he is a very, very good basketball player. Players at the end of their careers can offer good advice to young players on the nuances of the game. There are many younger players on teams across the league with much smaller skill sets.

any team that wants allen iverson on their team has front office issues...he's not anything like he used to be...he has a horrible attitude...and regardless of how much you think your ticket sales will go up with him on your team, they won't cuz nobody gives a rip about AI

He is now officially retired, he will be playing for some sorry team next year. No team wants all the extra backage that he brings along. But once everything settles over the season and he is almost forgotten and not talked about, he will sign with the Nets or some other bad team.

Iverson needs to keep his mouth shut, and play as much as he can. I can see him in 5 or less years as Latrell Spreewell who turned down a 3 year $21 million check, because he couldn't feed his kids. I know when you're at that level you have the hunger to play, but why not be a Shawn Bradley in the latter part of your career. Who in their right mind wouldn't sit on the bench for $3 million a year ? True parking in handicapped spaces at the airport fines tend to pile up, but he could afford them even at $3 million.

Back with the Sixers looks like...for a year anyway.

Maybe he did talk to Spree : http://www.luxist.com/2009/11/29/another-p...trell-sprewell/ . He needed to realize that sitting on his rear in Atlanta wasn't going to pay the bills. I don't know of many endorsements that "The Answer" has, but I would say it's next to none.

I'm a 6ers fan, but even I don't want him back on the team.
