I'm really losing hope....
I've told myself all along not to panic, that the Rangers would get hot and pull through, but I do believe it is time to panic. We have 20 games left and are 4 out of the WC and 6 out of the West. Sure, sure, we have 7 upcoming games against the angels, a team which we have dominated so far this season, but those aren't the games I'm concerned with. It's the rays, the A's and the mariners that scare me most. Those are type of teams that we can't seem to beat, teams that have nothing to play for, teams that we SHOULD easily handle.
Scooter is on the mound tonight and I have faith that he can get the win, but the rest of the pitching staff has become about as predictable as this Texas weather.
I am forever a Texas Rangers fan, and I'm trying so hard not to give up on these guys in 2009.....

I refuse to give up on this team until I hear the dreaded term officially eliminated from playoff contention.

That's me. I am not giving up until they say it's over....but that group is warming up to sing I'm afraid. Anyways, Texas needs to re-evaluate their starting pitching. Millwood needs to go to the bullpen. Nippert can take his spot in the rotation. Darren O'Day could even fill in if he needed to I think.

Final
Feldman got roughed up in the sixth.
I did not see this coming.
On a kind of positive note, the Angels lost as well....

It's gonna take a remarkable stretch of wins down this last 19 ballgames to get in now, either as the wildcard or the west division champ, but as we've seen all season long, if any team is capable of it, it just may be our Rangers.

It is dissappointing when we send out our best pitcher and get shutout.
There is still 19 games left,,,,,,,,,,, got have a little faith

In order to even stand a fighting chance down the stretch, Millwood and Holland are gonna have to return to form. I look for both of them to do so, too.

Terrible! David Murphy swinging at an awful high and inside fastball on a 3-0 count with two runners on, while down 4-1 in the bottom of the fifth, and he pops out weakly to CF! Absolutely inexcusable. That's TERRIBLE baseball! And Young, try as he might, just couldn't go tonight. Things do not look good now.

I realize they happen everyday, but it will take a miracle now.

^ I wouldn't say a
miracle ... for the sake of optimism, let us
say (I
KNOW I am assuming a lot):
- The Rangers win tonight
- The Red Sox defeat the Angels the next two nights
- The Rangers sweep the Angels this weekend (we all know the Rangers "play up" to the good teams)
... we would all wake up Monday morning to see the Rangers a mere 1 ½ games out of first & the sky would stop falling.
'not predicting this scenario at all ... merely stating that it would not re-write the Baseball History books on all-time great comebacks.
I STILL REFUSE TO CONCEDE

The Rangers go 1-4 so far on this homestand while the Red Sox and the Angels knock each other off in their series. This is aggravating...

I agree! I think they are done. I just dont get how they can play so well against the top teams, and then lose to some of the worst teams in baseball. It just shows me they aren't ready to take it to the next level. It will be interesting to see what they do with the roster in the offseason. I think (and hope) Millwood has pitched himself out of Arlington. His 10 mil a year will be needed. Blaylock and Byrd are certain to be let go, as well as a few other pitchers. I think most of their problems early was the offense, but lately the pitching has just been aweful. I personally think they are out of it, but ya'll are right, they still have a slight chance. They HAVE TO START TONIGHT!!
