Longview reassigns D.C. John Berry
During the Longview Lobos 45-0 win against Sulphur Springs on Friday, there was a public disagreement on the sideline involving defensive coordinator John Berry and head coach John King. It ended with Coach Berry leaving the field during the game.

I was told by sources within Longview I.S.D. on Sunday morning Coach Berry would be reassigned within the district.

That was made official on Monday and Coach Berry will remain as a teacher within the science department at Longview High School.

Meanwhile, Casey Pearce will assume full-time duties as the defensive coordinator and Johnny Hamilton will take over coaching the linebackers. Hamilton has been working within the athletic department with A.D. Pat Collins.

Former Texas High and University of Texas receiver Nathan Jones has been activated by the St. Louis Rams from their practice squad.

Jones originally made the 53-man roster out of training camp but was moved to the practice squad after additional roster moves were made before the start of the regular season.

Jones started his NFL career as an non-drafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings.
