I have accepted the job as program director, sports director, and talk show host at AM1660 KRZI (ESPN Radio-Waco).

I will host a sports talk show from 3:00pm-6:00pm (Monday through Friday).

At this time, the show is not available on the Internet, but that will change in due time.

I will be moving to Waco, but Smoaky.com will not change at all; in fact, it just expanded to some of Central Texas.

The City of Tyler announced on Wednesday they're naming a street after the Tyler Rose himself, "Earl Campbell Parkway."

The City Council unveiled the plans to name a stretch from New Sunnybrook off Highway 155 adjacent to the Tyler I.S.D. administration building to the west Loop and eventually an extension to Highway 31.

T.I.S.D. honored Campbell by naming the field after him at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.

As a senior at John Tyler High School, Campbell led the Lions to the Class 4-A State Championship.

Campbell, who later won the 1977 Heisman Trophy and is a member of both the College and Pro Football Hall of Fame told David Smoak late Tuesday night, "I'm overwhelmed by all this, I'm honored and very grateful, and that includes not just me but my entire family, the boys and my wife are very happy that this is coming about." Campbell continued, "I have always tried to do my best to represent the city of Tyler and my hometown to the best of my ability. But, this isn't just about Earl Campbell, this is for so many people who have known the Campbell family for all these years and I hope this is something everyone in the city can be proud of as much as we are as a family."

The City also proclaimed this "Earl Campbell Day," and gave the all-time great a key to the city.
