It's official, Steve Hoffman to Corsicana

Corsicana I.S.D. has approved the recommendation of Steve Hoffman as their new head football coach after a school board meeting on Monday.

Hoffman has been the head coach at Del Rio since 2007 where he compiled a 46-24 record. Hoffman has also been an assistant coach at Schertz Clemens, Marion and Cleburne.

Grand Saline hires Michael Ridge

Michael Ridge, the offensive coordinator and special teams coordinator at Clear Falls High School has been approved as the AD/Head Football Coach at Grand Saline High School.

Ridge, who is 40-years old, has been an assistant coach for 18-years at not only Clear Falls, but Seagoville (OC), Bonham (OC), LaMarque (Asst. AD) and Grand Saline.

He's a graduate of both Grand Saline High School and Stephen F. Austin State University.

Ridge replaces Michael Ludlow who is now an assistant coach at Mesquite Poteet High School.
Waco High's Andrew Billings Breaks Powerlifting Record

Waco High senior and Baylor football commit Andrew Billings broke the state meet powerlifting record in Abilene on Saturday. Billings broke Mark Henry's previous state-meet record of 2,000 pounds, with a dead lift of 700-pounds which you can see by clicking on this link.

Billings also squatted 805-pounds and benched 500-pounds to reach 2,010 overall pounds.
Jasper's Cuney commits to Texas

Jasper center Terrell Cuney, 6-3, 260, officially announced his commitment to the University of Texas on Saturday on Twitter Cuney Commits to UTp.

Cuney was a 3rd-Team All-Smoaky.com All-East Texas selection during a junior year when he graded 91%-blocking with 24-Pancaks.
Nelson Kortis Hired in Maud...

Navasota offensive coordinator Nelson Kortis has been approved as the new AD/Head Football Coach at Maud High School and he's pumped up about it, "Maud has hard-working kids, great coaches and school administration and a supportive community with all the building blocks of a championship program, so I anticipate great things ahead for the Maud Cardinals."
