In a rematch from an earlier District 19-2A game, the Elysian Fields Yellowjackets stunned the Arp Tigers on the final play of the game. Elysian Fields quarterback Tim Curry his Micah Smith for a touchdown pass with no time remaining.

Elysian Fields rallied from behind, trailing 13-0, and two of their previous scores came on fourth-down plays, one a touchdown pass from Curry to Joe Benefield, and another on Curry's touchdown pass to Dekevius Johnson.

Elysian Fields would eventually lose to Canadian in the Class 2-A, Division II State Championship Game in Brownwood.
