Bi-District Games to Watch for East Texas Teams

West Rusk (8-2, 4-2) vs Atlanta (5-5, 5-1)

The Raiders finished the regular season in third place of district 8-3A DI, behind Gladewater and Tatum.

West Rusk is led by senior’s QB LaJavious Harper and LB Diego Molina.

Harper is 72 of 128 for 1,232 yards and 20TD, with 47 carries for 367 yards and 5TD. Molina leads the teams in tackles with 112 total.

The Raiders offense has eight different players with rushing touchdowns and they average 31.7ppg.

The Rabbits finished the regular season in second place of district 7-3A DI, with their only loss coming to district champions Jefferson 56-21.

Atlanta averaged 45.4ppg in district play and outscored district opponents 227-112.

Both teams have one common opponent on the season in Gladewater. Atlanta lost to Gladewater 37-21 and West Rusk defeated Gladewater 27-26.

These two programs are tied at 1-1 all-time and the last time they played was in 1970, where the Raiders won 27-7.

The game is scheduled for Friday at 7:00pm in Spring Hill.

Corrigan-Camden (8-2, 4-1) vs Elysian Fields (6-4, 5-2)

The Bulldogs finished the regular season in second place of district 12-3A DII, with their only district loss coming to Newton 56-7.

During their four district wins, Corrigan-Camden outscored their opponents 163-6, while averaging 40.8ppg.

The Yellow Jackets finished fourth in district 11-3A DII, while having the same district record as Daingerfield and Omaha Paul Pewitt.

Elysian Fields has an explosive offense that averages 36.8ppg.

Sophomore QB Ryan Wilkerson is 92 of 136 for 1,522 yards and 9TD on the season. Senior RB Michael Ramirez has 170 carries for 1,403 yards and 16TD.

This will be the fourth matchup all-time between these two programs, with Corrigan-Camden leading the series 2-1.

The game is scheduled for Thursday at 7:00pm in Greenville.

Henderson (6-4, 3-2) vs Crandall (7-2, 4-1)

The Lions finished the regular season in third place of district 10-4A DI, with losses in their last two games against Van and Carthage.

Henderson started the season off 0-2 and was able to put together a six game winning streak and will be looking for that same momentum entering the playoffs.

The Pirates finished the regular season in second place of district 9-4A DI and their only loss came against district champs Midlothian Heritage 55-17.

Crandall has won their last two games by a combined score of 89-21 and they are 5-0 this season on the road.

This will be the first time these two programs have met on the football field. The game is scheduled for Friday at 7:30 in Palestine.

Whitehouse (7-3, 5-2) vs A&M Consol (9-1,6-1)

The Wildcats finished the regular season in third place of district 9-5A DII, with losses to Marshall and Lindale.

Whitehouse is led by senior Flint Herrington, who is 188 of 296 for 2,549 yards and 25TD this season.

Herrington’s favorite target has been senior Kendroin Johnson who has 51 receptions for 965 yards and 11TD.

The Tigers finished the regular season in second place of district 10-5A DII, behind Huntsville who beat them 27-7.

A&M Consolidated is led my senior QB Caden Fedora, who is 105 of 180 for 1,872 yards and 24TD.

Senior NG Josh Ellison leads the team in tackles with 57 total, 34 of which are solo and he has forced and recovered two fumbles.

These two teams met in bi-district last season and A&M Consolidated game away victorious 35-7.

The game is scheduled for Friday at 7:00pm in College Station.

John Tyler (7-2, 6-0) vs Tomball (6-4, 4-3)

CUJO finished the regular season as district 7-5A DI champions.

John Tyler has a potent offensive attack that averages 37.4ppg, and is led by a trio of senior playmakers.

QB Devlen Woods is 77 of 128 for 1,637 yards and 19TD. RB Roderick Hawkins has 109 carries for 1,079 yards and 8TD.

WR Keandre Street has 24 receptions for 745 yards and 10TD, including the game winning touchdown against Mesquite Poteet that went viral and made ESPN.

The Cougars finished the regular season in fourth place of district 8-5A DI. The district features defending state champions College Station and state ranked powerhouse Lufkin.

Tomball is led by junior QB Hunter Dunn and Baylor commit, senior WR Logan Compton.

Dunn is 115 of 198 for 2,068 yards and 14TD. Compton has 22 receptions for 379 yards and 2TD.

This will be the first game between these two programs and is scheduled for Friday at 7:00pm in Tyler.
