Smith, Rollison Co-Players of the Week
With both players being on championship teams, and the vote being so close, I've decided to name Dwight Smith and Tyrik Rollison Co-Player of the Week in East Texas.

East Texas Players of the Week:

Dwight Smith, RB, Carthage, 25-carries, 271-yards, 5-TD's, (3, 50, 25, 9, 90), as Bulldogs won Class 3-A, Division II State Championship, 49-37 over Celina.

Tyrik Rollison, QB, Sulphur Springs, completed 24-30 passes for 413-yards, 4-TD's, (23, 28, 30, 15), caught a pass for 20-yards, and added 133-yards rushing on 19-carries, and 3-TD's, (2, 48, 1), as Sulphur Springs won the Class 4-A, Division II State Championship, 69-49 over Dayton.

East Texas "Players of the Week"
Here are the Smoaky.com East Texas "Players of the Week" from performances involving the state semifinals and championship games of December 12th-13th.

The winners were decided by Smoaky.com membership voting.

Offense:
Dwight Smith, RB, Carthage, 22-carries, 298-yards, 5-TD's, (22, 13, 61, 70, 2), as Carthage whipped Giddings, 41-14.

Defense:
Anthony Mills, DB, Sulphur Springs, Intercepted 2-passes, as Wildcats beat Everman, 47-34.

Special Teams:
Tyler McCray, Longview, his 72-yard KO Return in the 4th-Quarter led to the go-ahead TD for Longview (A McCray run), as the Lobos beat Denton Guyer, 41-30.
East Texas "Players of the Week"...
Based on membership voting from games of December 5th-6th.

Offense:
Tyrik Rollison, QB, Sulphur Springs, completed 24-29 passes for 387-yards, 5-TD's, (16, 18, 9, 62, 13), and ran for 2-TD's, (1, 4), as Sulphur Springs beat Rockwall Heath, 52-47.

Defense:
Alonte' Darden, CB, Longview, His lone intercepted setup the Lobos first TD, as Longview beat Waco Midway, 43-42 in OT.

Special Teams:
Shane McQueen, Sulphur Springs, 6-KO Returns for 200-yards, including a long of 72-yards, as Sulphur Springs beat Rockwall Heath, 52-47.
