Offense:
Tyler Boyd, Daingerfield, completed 11-12 passes for 179-yards and 5-TD's (22, 18, 17, 26, 39) and added 109-yards rushing on 17-carries and 1-TD (14) during Tigers 62-14 win against Bushland.
Defense:
DeShun Williams, Carthage, stopped Graham on their fake 2-point conversion with 1:22 left in the game to all but seal the Bulldogs 13-12 state championship win against Graham.
Special Teams:
Jalen Claiborne, Carthage, secured the Bulldogs state championship victory by recovering an onside kick with just over 1:00 remaining as Carthage beat Graham, 13-12.
Here are the East Texas "Players of the Week" from the fifth-round of the playoffs as voted on by the membership.
Offense:
Darian Godfrey, Gilmer, 18-carries for 149-yards and 2-TD's (10,2), and completed 21-29 passes for 248-yards and 2-TD's (15, 7) as Buckeyes beat Abilene Wylie, 43-26.
Defense:
Kyle Deaton, Carthage, 13-Tackles, 3-TFL, 1-Sack, 2-QBP as Bulldogs beat La Grange, 27-14.
Special Teams:
Kyle Jenkins, Longview, 7-7 XP's during Lobos 49-28 victory against Denton Guyer.
