Mesquite Horn wide receiver Tayler Gabriel has committed to play at Abilene Christian University.

Gabriel, 5-9, 170, was the District 11-5A MVP, which included John Tyler and Tyler Lee.

Gabriel was also named 1st-Team All-State, and 1st-Team All-Smoaky.com.

Leverett's Chapel athlete Hunter Hammontree has committed to Kilgore College.

Hammontree, an All-Smoaky.com Honorable Mention selection, completed 77-143 passes for 1,350-yards, 31-TD’s, 3-Int’s, 98-carries, 1,121-yards, 18-TD’s, and was the District M.V.P..

Mount Pleasant defensive end Tarmaine Elliott has committed to Tarleton State University in Stephenville.

Elliott, 6-2, 235, finished his senior year with 67-tackles, 5-TFL, 11-QB pressures, 5-sacks, 1-FR, and 2-CF, and was a fourth-team All-Smoaky.com selection as a rush defensive end.

John Tyler senior defensive end Ricky Marshall has committed to Texas A&M-Kingsville.

Marshall, 6-1, 190, finished with 5-sacks during his senior season.
