Longview's Fortson, "I have committed to KU."
Longview wide receiver Carey Fortson has given his verbal commitment to play at Kansas University.

Fortson told KTBB's David Smoak, "I will visit Kansas in July, but I have given my verbal commitment to them, I like how they play, I like their offense, and they're in the Big XII," Fortson continued, "I have family up in the Kansas City area, so that will make it very comfortable for me."

Fortson, 6-1, 175, averaged 22-yards per catch on 28-receptions and 7-TD's as a junior.

Fortson becomes the 20th East Texan who has made a commitment to play Division 1-A football for the Class of 2010.

Garrison's Lunsford commits to U of H...
According to CougarsDen.com, Garrison offensive lineman Austin Lunsford gave his verbal commitment yesterday to Kevin Sumlin and the Houston Cougars for the Class of 2010.

Lunsford is the third East Texan to give Houston a verbal commitment in the past three days and the fourth overall.

He is also the 19th East Texan to make a verbal commitment to a Division-1 program for the Class of 2010.

Sulphur Springs' Carpenter commits to the Red Raiders...
RedRaiderSports.com has reported that Sulphur Springs offensive lineman Beau Carpenter has given his verbal commitment to Texas Tech University this afternoon.

Carpenter joins teammate Kedrick Dial as Tech's second commitment from Sulphur Springs for the Class of 2010.

Carpenter also becomes the 15th Division-One commitment from the East Texas area for 2010.

Jefferson's Mosley commits to K-State
Jefferson running back Destin Mosley has given his verbal commitment to play at Kansas State University.

Mosley, 5-9, 175, finished his junior season with 205-carries for 1,226-yards, and 11-TD's, while catching 6-passes for 119-yards.
