The UT-Tyler Patriots baseball team has been selected as the #2 seed in the West Regional at McMinnville, Oregon.

The Patriots will open the NCAA Division III regional tournament against #5 Chapman at 5:30pm on Wednesday.

UT-Tyler softball team will play in the NJCAA Division III World Series in Montclair, New Jersey.

The Patriots earned a berth in the World Series after winning the West Regional Tournament in Marshall.

UT-Tyler will open the World Series against Gustavus Adolphus at 10:00am on Friday.

NCAA Division III

The Texas A&M University-Commerce athletic department announced its 2009 football schedule on Wednesday. The schedule includes a September 12th contest against Abilene Christian for the 2009 Harvey Martin Classic at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

In addition, the Lions will host Central Oklahoma (Sept. 26), Northeastern State (Oct. 3) and Texas A&M-Kingsville (Oct. 10) at Memorial Stadium.

A&M-Commerce and first year head coach Guy Morriss will begin the 2009 season on the road against Angelo State on Saturday, August 29th. After the encounter with the Rams, the Lions will travel to Hammond, La. to face Southeastern Louisiana.
