COMEBACK OF THE YEAR:
Canton athletic director and head football coach G.J. Kinne, who was allegedly shot by a disgruntled parent on April 7th, went from a life-threatening condition to coach the Eagles to their greatest season ever.

The Canton football team rallied around the tragedy to reach the Class 3-A Division Two Quarterfinal-Round.

Kinne, who was shot on April 7th at the high school field house, recovered in time to make the Eagles first workout in August, and was on the sideline for all but one game, as his Eagles went deeper than any team in school history.

Kinne, who also received various Coach-of-the-Year Awards, has since taken a job as linebackers coach at his alma mater, Baylor University.
