I have only heard of 4 but I'm not on the inside. Of those four leaving, I have heard 2 were leaving anyway for family reasons, one got a big promotion at a large school, and one got his license to be an administrator. I have no idea of the other 2 as all my knowledge is 3rd of 4th hand.

Usually when a promotion from within happens a lot of guys stay. In my experience, the coordinators usually discuss among themselves which one is going to apply for the Head Coach position. If they both want to stay, they come to a decision and the other is promised a title like Assistant head Coach and no classes if possible. In this scenario, a majority of position coaches stay because their bosses and responsibilities are the same.

Wouldn't that have been the case no matter who they hired? Totally not talking smack, or playing devil's advocate... just curious. Wouldn't any new coach (Horn, Alexander, Saban) want to bring in his own guys? Sincerely curious... would more guys have stayed if someone else had been hired?

YEP....same here Reb.....MY body has one of those 'restrictor PLATES"....that after 101 yards....my body shuts down......my kids tell me they are going to get me one of those Was-mart carts....THAT way can multi-task........go where I'm going AND pick up cans on the side of the road.....you know aluminum CAN be very lucrative!!...especially with this "new" tariff .......I "use ta could" and did...save all my "drinking" tabs....you know the ones before they put that "semi-sealed" top on the "adult beverage" cans??.......I was doing that to save my feet......THOSE tabs were SHARP.....and in High School...after April 1 I went barefooted......walking on the side of the road was MURDER on my feet......so I picked up those "ring tabs" and saved em and cashed in!!!

This is very true. If he the player has the respect from his team they it shouldn’t matter if he is that “RaRa” kid or not. Or even if he gets “hyped” up from a good play as long as he acknowledges that there was a good play and does what the situation requires of him. I’m just saying I’ve noticed this with coaching staffs also. A lot of the best coaches aren’t the loud yelling types they are the quiet build relationship with the kids coaches.

A great player must be able to help his team mates with encouragement, boasting about another players hard work or great play, stern reminder in private if a player takes a play off, good listener, humble, emotional, and great student of a coaches game plan.
