I think the Lobo fans are learning a bit about setting proper expectations after winning it all. No one should ever expect game 1 will will be an extension of game 16 the year before. New players, some new coaches, etc. Trust the process and watch them get better each week. Each year the path is different. 12-4 is just as good as 16-0 as long as you win the last 6! I think the Lobos do get better this week and win 42-14.4 points

1950 - Jerry Matthews. Lost 32-7 to Gladewater. Had just had 22 guys ruled ineligible a couple games prior, so ended the season by deciding to throw the ball 36 times lol. 1939 - Quarterback was Worsham (can't find the first name in any documentation). Came in a 6-0 loss to Kilgore. 1965 record setter was indeed James Street, but he only completed 13 of those 38 passes. Came in a 25-13 loss to Texas High. Only win out of all 4, came last night.3 points

Late night getting home from a memorable game. Everyone sees thing from their own teams perspective, but I did think the Lee defense played better than it has in years. We have been really slow and soft for the last 8 years. I know Marshall fans see mistakes and turnovers, but if you take away 3 big scramble out of your mind passes, this could have been a shutout for the Lee D. Our offense was pretty vanilla, as usual. Was surprised the Mavs couldn’t get someone on our Qb in the second half. I do agree the Mavs seemed a little overconfident and may have expected the same soft Lee. We have to get a passing game by District. Every year we see 8 in the box and don’t know how to deal with it. Good luck to Marshall the rest of the season. I always enjoy the rivalry.3 points

If yall see a black dude with a white Lobo polo and Lobo cap running down the Lufkin homeside stands with his arms raised in disbelief of an awful ref call on the news tonight... It may or may not have been me.3 points

Anytime you beat Lufkin AT LUFKIN you’ve done something. They are crafty and talent laden. Longview will look like a state contender around district time. Week 6 Lobos won’t even remotely resemble Week 1 Lobos.2 points

For me...this game was a continuation of a sloppy scrimmage....oline needs some work and the secondary was a little worse as the game went on....but those were expected....both teams have potential to be great....got to continue to get better...2 points

To me, Longviews band came away the net winner lol. That’s a dang good band2 points

Oh. And Dakirin Buchanan at CB1, straight beast. Dropped an INT, had another negated because of offsides call and batted down alot of Jalynn Polk bound balls.2 points

Agree 100%. I’ve said it many times, when Carthage is special on D they pretty much win state. I’m going to wait to anoint this D as special, but after last night let’s just say they are a promising bunch.2 points

Carthage definitely looks the part. One of the best “looking” team Carthage has had. Kids worked hard in the offseason. Just want to see D continue to be physical and offense continue to work on the pass game. QB just needs time under the big lights. Has a big arm and really good looking athletic kid. And to all the fans yelling “run the ball!”, please shut up. Lol. Why does Carthage need to run the ball? This is pre-district. Pretty much a given that Carthage is going to have a hell of a run game with that O-Line and Courtney (Who by the way looked excellent. He also had a good offseason. Looks much faster and had some twitch I didn’t see last year). Carthage needs to work on the passing game. People seem to forget that every year it’s like this. Surratt will try not to get Carthage beat passing, but if it happens so what. I think he will run the ball on anybody we play except maybe PG. Pass game is most important to work on at this point. Run the ball just enough to win until the passing game is set. Just my opinion.2 points

Some of the Pack fans, like you are good to sit with .... IJS. We had a few sitting behind us at the 50 yard line that should have been a little more respectful....but it was all good. I turned around before the end of the game to tell them good game. Guess what. They had already left....2 points

The Tigers will be just fine. We lost the game tonight, but showed lots of fire. That game could have very well been a blowout and let's not forget this was also a Top #5 team this season. Congrats to Gunter, but now the Tigers move on to next week. Dfield vs Tatum2 points

EF lost a few key players tonight. The starting DE and the starting RT/DT. They were both having good games before there injuries. Both looked knee related. Praying for those kids that it’s not serious.2 points

These two offenses will only get better with time. I think the fact both defenses are familiar with wing T attacks, along with excessive penalties which put both teams behind the chains, helped create the low-scoring outcome. Outside of the big Paris TD run, PG did an outstanding job of limiting Paris' outside running plays. There won't be many teams on the Cats' schedule able to do likewise. Both training rooms will be busy with the aftermath of this slobber-knocker.2 points

Hate to say it but kinda what i saw in scrimmage and hoped i was wrong. 13 could be a deep threat too, but Polk is really the only one we have to actually show something as a deep threat. Maybe Reggie. I want to see is give Diaz some more reps too. I don’t see it from the others. First game though. Running backs need to step it up. But the blame probably goes to oline. Having a TE there would help out a lot, but our OC doesn’t like them. I don’t have faith in the kicking game either. He didn’t show me at least in the scrimmage he could them. So...yea. But disappointed too. Longview was the better team, but they tried to give us the game. You have to take it at home. Defense even without bugg and at times Stafford for most of second half played well. Pack laid an egg. Oline is big but slow. They have to get better. Secondary has to get better. The other receivers have to improve. Period2 points
