  2. Well we are 1 game away from the bracket being set in stone. Here’s a rundown of where all of the districts stand. District 9 Current Standings 1 Centerville (4-0) 2 Normangee (3-1) 3 Leon (3-1) 4 Cayuga (1-3) 5 Kerens (1-3) 6 Cross Roads (0-4) Week 11 Centerville vs Leon; Kerens vs Normangee; Cayuga vs Cross Roads Locks: Centerville, Normangee and Leon are IN Elimimated None Centerville clinches 1 seed with win; Leon clinches 1 seed with win and Normangee loss; A Leon win and a Normangee win send the 1 seed tie breaker to points; Cayuga clinches 4 seed with win; Kerens must win and have Cayuga lose to get 4 seed; if Kerens and Cayuga both lose, there is a 3 way tie for 4th with those 2 and cross roads; Centerville has head to head over Normangee Normangee has head to head over Leon Cayuga has head to head over Kerens District 10 Current Standings 1 Alto (4-0) 2 Carlisle (3-1) 3 Hawkins (3-1) 4 Big Sandy (1-3) 5 Union Grove (1-3) 6 Cushing (0-4) Locks: Alto is in as 1 seed, Carlisle and Hawkins are IN Eliminated: None Week 11 Alto vs Union Grove; Carlisle vs Hawkins, Cushing vs Big Sandy Hawkins and Carlisle are playing for the 2 seed; loser is 3 seed; Big Sandy clinches 4 seed with win over Cushing; union Grove must win and have Cushing win to clinch 4 seed; a Cushing win and Union Grove loss makes a 3 way tie between those 2 and Big Sandy; District 11 Current Standings 1 Joaquin (5-0) 2 Harleton (4-1) 3 Garrison (3-3) 4 Timpson (2-3) 5 Linden-Kildare (2-3) 6 Beckville (1-4) 7 Tenaha (1-4) Locks: Joaquin, Harleton and Garrison are IN Eliminated: Tenaha Week 11 Joaquin vs Harleton; Timpson vs Beckville; Tenaha vs Linden-Kildare; Garrison BYE Joaquin and Harleton will determine 1 & 2 seed; Timpson is in and clinches 3 seed with a win; A Timpson win (no matter other results) eliminates everyone else and Garrison is the 4 seed; A Timpson loss opens up a Pandora’s box of possibilities...Garrison would be the 3 seed; LK could claim the 4 seed with a win; A Tenaha win in this scenario would create a 4 way tie for 4th between Timpson, Beckville, LK and Tenaha...Tenaha and Beckville would be 2-1 against the others, LK & Timpson would be 1-2. Beckville would then have the head to head on Tenaha and thus claim the 4 seed District 12 Current Standings 1 San Augustine (4-0) 2 Groveton (3-1) 3 Shelbyville (3-1) 4 Deweyville (1-3) 5 West Sabine (1-3) 6 Hull-Daisetta (0-4) Locks: SA, Groveton and Shelbyville are IN Eliminated: Hull-Daisetta Week 11: SA vs Shelbyville, Groveton vs HD; West Sabine vs Deweyville SA clinches 1 seed with win; Shelbyville clinches 1 seed with win and Groveton loss; Groveton clinches 2 seed with win and SA win; 3 way tie going down to points occurs with Shelbyville and Groveton wins; West Sabine and Deweyville winner is the 4 seed; Predicted Playoff Bracket (W9) Centerville vs (F10) Big Sandy (R12) Groveton vs (T11) Timpson (W10) Alto vs (F9) Cayuga (R11) Harleton vs (T12) Shelbyville (W11) Joaquin vs (F12) Deweyville (R10) Carlisle vs (T9) Leon (W12) San Augustine vs (F11) Garrison (R9) Normangee vs (T10) Hawkins

  6. Pencil Neck is one of the most dishonest people in Congress .... he's a chronic liar and needs to be held accountable for his treasonous actions .... he will soon be exposed and called on his lies .....

  7. Henderson will need to clean some things up if you have any hopes of making it back to the Regional Finals to lose to the Dawgs for a 6th time in three years. Van is plenty capable of beating the Lions Fri. Henderson has the athletes but Van is like the Iowa or Minnesota of D10. Sound disciplined football.

  10. You're soo right. It's all over, baby blue. Drumpf is doomed. Pence too. Hell, the entire administration is coming down, sometime next week no doubt. Probably gonna reverse the entire election and appoint Hillary as Supreme Chancellor. Everything is happening exactly as you have foreseen. It must be awful, the burden of genius that you carry. Glad you're here to share your brilliance with us.

  11. The last time the Joaquin Rams celebrated a district championship, they did it at Harleton’s Wildcat Stadium after capping off a 10-0 season with a win over the Wildcats in 2012. The Rams have an opportunity to repeat history Friday night when they travel north to take on the ‘Cats. Harleton lost their district opener, a head scratching 28-21 defeat by Linden-Kildare, but they have ground out four straight victories since, putting them in position to go from 1-9 and getting blown out every week to winning what some experts called the “toughest district in AA.” That title has yet to be earned, but you have to give the new Harleton coaching staff their due as the turnaround of the year. The switch to the wing-T looks to be just what the doctor ordered for the Wildcats. The Rams will attack with their slot-T offense, so this game should move very quickly. The winner of this game will square off with the winner of West Sabine and Deweyville, who will be the #4 seed out of District 12. The loser will slide to the #2 seed and will face District 12’s #3, Shelbyville. Who takes home the trophy and why?

  12. Have no dog in the hunt, but kinda hoping B'ville can stop the streak at 38. And maybe hoping that the community and board will consider looking at 6-man in the future. All kids need to experience some success. Tale of the Tape: Colmesneil: Ave about 13 ppg while yielding at a rate of about 42 ppg Burkeville: Ave just over 11 ppg and giving up a little over 37 ppg

  13. Waskom gets in if New Diana beats Daingerfield regardless of what happens in the EF v DK game, so EF beating DK is not the only path for Waskom. PP would be 1, then ND, then DF would have 3. Waskom would be tied with either EF or DK, and own the tie breaker against both. In a three way tie, every other district goes to points when there are head to head ties, and all seeds are set using points. If there is a three way tie among EF, Waskom and New Diana, the top two teams in points are EF and Waskom. The only way New Diana gets in and Waskom does not is if they only use points to determine the 3 seed, and then revert back to head to head for the 4. No other district i can find does this, so it would be a unique tie breaker rule. I understand you heard this from a Waskom coach, but I am certain that same coach is wrong in saying Waskom's only chance is if EF beats DK.

  15. Agreed. I’m all about traditions, especially winning ones. But that winning tradition was established when they had the numbers to be competitive year-in, year-out. Those days are over, at least until something changes in their school district to bring the numbers back up. If you want to bring that tradition back, stop trying to punch above your weight class and give your kids a chance to compete. 6-man allows that, and the coaching jobs they eliminate would more than offset the extra travel costs. It’s a win win all the way around.

  17. Harleton is one of those teams that makes opponents feel like they beat themselves. Not saying that’s what happened to Garrison, but I’ve seen fans from other teams echo your sentiments. “They’re not that good; we didn’t play well; should have beat them by 3 TDs; blah blah blah.” But here they are, 7-2 playing for a district championship. Our coaches and players have to take them seriously, or we’re gonna be saying those same things Saturday morning while looking at our 4th consecutive runner-up finish.

  18. By the time this is over Pencil Neck will be lucky to still have a seat in congress .... at the very least .... it's going to get ugly for him if we ever get open and honest testimony ....

  19. Garrison practically handed Harelton the win on a silver platter with costly penalties, unprepared players, fake punts on their own end of the field, and mental mistakes after mental mistakes. They lost a game they should have won .... I'll take Joe Quinn by three scores ... rams are the better team ...

  20. Of course I'd like people to go to DCTF and pay for the info, its called not working for free and putting value on the service you provide...capitalism is a beautiful thing...there's a market for what we do and thats a good thing....as soon as there's not a market for it then I'll quit doing it...clearly you dont put value in the service provided....

  22. Even if it were a football school, very few people other than friends and family were willing to travel nearly 90 miles on a fairly cold night to see their team likely lose in a rout.

  26. I’m ok with Mally staying at number 2. It’s just a little more reason to keep fighting. Not gonna lie Region 3 is just a gauntlet yet again this year. So many strong teams playing with a chip on their shoulder.

  27. At one time, Surratt said he wanted to play D1 and would ask the UIL to do so. IDK about now, but I would believe he still likes the challenge to beat anyone in a decent range of his enrollment. He calls big plays like no other. He makes halftime adjustments like no other. In other words, he likes a challenge. I accepted his challenge on the golf course and I'm scratch. I gave him a shot a nine and paid.

  33. Thanks, guys. These kids have come a long way since 0-40. After that start to the decade, happy to see them end the 2010's on a strong note. Who empties the stands onto the field after a win to lock up fourth place? We do. Also our first winning season since 2009.

  37. Harleton wins 36-35. Why? There have been a lot of unexpected outcomes this year in this district. I think we get one more surprise Fri. Both teams are solid and are worthy of the District Title.
