  1. Let me start this by saying that I don’t think Garrett is a great coach but firing him will not fix the Cowboys problem. The next coach will do exactly what Garrett is doing and that’s doing whatever Jerry tells him to do. I’m as big a Cowboys fan as any of you (even named my Dallas) but until Jerry is out of the picture.......we’re doomed.

  3. Sorry but you don't belong in any "team of the decade" conversation if all you've got to show for it is one title. No matter how many other games you won or how often the AP has you ranked #1. That's just silly.

  4. Mike Yurcich has officially been hired as the new OC.

  5. The FOX, CBS and ESPN “experts” seemed to agree, for the most part, that the 2019 Cowboys had near the league’s best talent on the roster. Probably lucky on the talent with Jerry J in charge. So a team that goes 8 - 8 with that much talent is probably not led by a very good coach. Maybe one of the better coaches out there that is available wants to try to transform that talent into a 9 - 7 team in 2020.

  7. Delusional....wait til Dallas hires a coach and then get your mind back on track...THEN make a prediction.....

  8. If Cooper wants a deal similar to the one he’s got now($13.9m) I’d be okay with it. 75 catches for 1,097 yards and 8 tds. I’m not paying him more than that. Just know that you gotta surround Dak with Gallup and another wide receiver or two for when Cooper gets hurt and disappears in games.

  9. Technically, he won't/isn't firing Red. He never renewed his contract and it expires on Wednesday.

  11. Dallas can score 144 points, but it won't change a thing with what's going on in New York. Should've took care of business last week.

  12. Nope. Not with Jerry. He’ll get some scatter brained idea that Garrett turned things around and willed this team into the playoffs. We don’t want that.

  17. Now that Ohio St is out of the playoffs reports are coming out on Texas boards that the Horns have signed Ohio St co-OC and passing game coordinator Mike Yurcich as their OC. Yurcich didn’t call plays at Ohio St this year but he was the play caller for 6 years at Oklahoma St under Mike Gundy. I like this hire and if Herman will do as he has said and let Yurcich have complete control I think it will immediately improve the Texas offense.

  19. Thread topic "High School Football Program of the Decade." Seems regal thinks argyle, with their single title, should be considered. How cute.

  24. My first choice would be to lure Jim Harbaugh from Michigan. I'd also be interested to see what Urban Meyer could do. I do NOT want Lincoln Riley.

  25. Iowa State, TCU, Baylor, OU... all of those games the playcalling was bad. When you’re defense isn’t great you better try to score a lot of points.

  26. Herman’s play calling got Texas beat against Iowa St. He has to let Yurcich be aggressive in his play calling and allow the offense to win games. I want to see Texas blow teams out again and keep their foot on the gas.

  27. Now that the dust has settled, people commented on Carthage's easy road to state and how Region 2 was a slugfest. Now I do agree it was a slugfest but I'm not too sure the region was filled with the best teams in the state. Out of the region, I could only see Lavega winning it all. I definitely agree it was the toughest region but that's because all of the tops teams were all on the same level. if you take Carthage out of Region 3, you could make the argument that this was the toughest region. Carthage was just head and shoulders over everyone else and apparently head and shoulders above region 2. There were very few blowouts in Region 3 that didn't involve Carthage. I believe that all regions were just as tough and truth is, most predicted the final four and all of them moonwalked to the semi's (well it took the flu to keep the Lavega/Melissa game close. Facts: The Region 2 clear best Lavega played 2 games outside of the region and looked VERY ordinary. Opinion: Melissa, Celina, Paris, Stephenville and Argyle were ordinary teams for whatever reason but they were all pretty much on the same level. I don't see any team on this list whould could beat Lampasas or Springtown. Argyles offense was GREAT but it was cancel out by a weak defense. All I see are s e x y names who were powerhouses in recent years. Honestly it came down to Argyle and LaVega and while the Eagles won the first battle, they were no where close to Lavega's level. Truth be told, I don't think they could beat Heritage. As far as Regions 1 and 4, other than Lampasas and Springtown, I don't know about them so if someone can elaborate, that would be great.

  28. Great tourney! Thanks to all who attended. SEC seats 1000 with room for up to 300 in SRO. Seating is ample, the event is in high demand... great final tonight... beating Shelbyville is literally like slaying a Dragon... much respect here.. Academy? That’s a team with five Or six guards who can shoot and defend... plus a grown man inside... quality club

  32. Out of the two loss teams, it’s hard to make a case for any of them. My take is this: after two consecutive years of the #1 cs #4 semifinal being over at halftime, why does anyone want to see a 1 vs 8?

  33. Yes, I was very impressed with Tatum's young team!! They wore us down with their depth and probably would have beat us if #23 hadn't fouled out.

  34. https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/rachel-maddows-reckoning/amp/ Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz issued his report earlier this month and concluded, “much of the material in the Steele election reports, including allegations about Donald Trump and members of the Trump campaign relied upon in the Carter Page FISA applications, could not be corroborated; that certain allegations were inaccurate or inconsistent with information gathered by the Crossfire Hurricane team; and that the limited information that was corroborated related to time, location and title information, much of which was publicly available.” The night Horowitz released his report, Maddow ignored that and emphasized other conclusions: “The inspector general debunks that there was any anti-Trump political bias motivating these decisions. They debunked the idea that the Christopher Steele dossier of opposition research against Trump was the basis for opening the FBI’s Russia investigation.” Wemple writes: “Asked to comment on how she approached the dossier, Maddow declined to provide an on-the-record response.” Like other prime-time cable news hosts who receive much more criticism, Maddow shows up every weeknight and tells a devoted audience, “the world is as you want it to be.” Trump is the worst, he’s committed many terrible crimes, a reckoning is coming, we will be vindicated. Her audience is not interested in hearing the host or guests declare: “While we are vehemently opposed to Trump, but there is no evidence he’s being blackmailed or controlled by the Russian government.” Her program includes bits of news and other substances that appear to be like news, but are not — fervent speculation, conjecture, assumptions, theories. If it is too harsh to call it “fake news,” then it is news with artificial flavors and sweeteners, designed to make it more exciting and appealing than it really is.
