Salado is up and coming, really still establishing themselves as a competitive program. They're only a few years removed from being a perennial bottom dweller. In 2018, Liberty Hill was very well established and had built a culture of winning since the early 2000s and were used to being on a big stage with very successful programs. I don't think Salado is there yet and would be surprised if they can really compete with Carthage. My guess is they may hang close initially, but Carthage will win quite handily.

Same Caddo Mills QB that SH played last year in the playoffs? If so, that young man can play! I’d like to see Gilmer play 4 solid qtrs. If they do, give me Gilmer by 10. If it’s the same Gilmer I’ve seen lately, give me CM.

I definitely understand that demo plays its role in success...but in Tyler High's case...I can't buy that its the main culprit in their struggles... Just take a look at black demographics alone. Longview had 751 blacks in the most recent snapshot, Tyler had 685. Longview has 70 more blacks.....but why are there 3x as many blacks (or more) showing up for football at Longview compared to Tyler? Even Marshall has more show up for football yearly and they have less blacks than TH. Why are valley schools like Harlingen, which are made up of 98% hispanics, able to field a freshmen team but Tyler can't? To me, it has to be deeper than demo. This is a culture/coaching issue.

Jenkins is a great player and should be celebrated. However, I don’t agree with you. Just because he’s the “greatest” Lindale has ever had, doesn’t mean he’s the most productive back in East Texas history. Just in recent years (the last 20) I can think of these guys below, plus there are probably several more. Adrian Peterson Bryce Beall Cam Haller Cody Glen Jackie Robinson Jamario Thomas Javorskie Lane Jermie Calhoun Justin Johnson Keith Gilliam Kendall Hunter Keontay Ingram Ladarius Anthony LaMichael James Lennon Creer Matthew Tucker Tevin Pipkin Tra Carson Traylon Shead Tyrone Ross Vondrell McGee Every one of these guys on this list was an example of greatness. Be glad you get to watch Jenkins make Lindale history, but be careful putting him up on a pedestal that ignores the greatness we’ve witnessed all over East Texas.

This past week I was surprised about the amount people knowing who we are far from east Texas just from wearing my shirt around in the DFW the JT name is still alive. They would tell me about when they played us and how good we were. Wish that was still the case now LOL.

It was one of the best defensive battles I ever witnessed in Highschool football.

The other yr EF beat PP was in Gilmer in 2006 28-14, next rd we lost to Corrigan Camden 28-12

That game was in Hallsville, but EF has never ever played against Mart before

I drove through NM earlier this week. Mask are mandatory and all of the restaurants were curbside only. The Marriott where I stayed required me to sign a waiver stating that they are not responsible should I contract COVID.
