  1. More exciting news to share! The foundation for the new coliseum and dressing rooms has been poured. Also on Saturday, the foundation for the new elementary gym was done. Next foundation up: the new high school! Red iron to be delivered in April. #tornadoes2019 #don’tlookback #jacketPRIDE

  2. He doesn’t live in a trailer house. Lol But you know what, I spent a few years in a mobile home growing up while my parents built our family brick home and I wasn’t any lesser of a person. So.....I know Stickstick meant that as an insult to the good folks of Alto (or maybe just to Jacket44 who lost his cool and ran his mouth)! Either way I’ve known some nice folks who live in “trailer houses.” And I’ve known some jerks who live in big nice houses. Best thing to do is follow momma’s advice and treat others the way you want to be treated and don’t worry so much about the house they are living in.

  3. It’s bend over time America, brought to you by the Democratic Party. Ironically, a vast number of Democratic voters don’t pay taxes so they don’t give a . That said, I’m for a constitutional amendment that only taxpayers should be allowed to vote. If you don’t pay taxes, you have zero skin in the game. Jmo

  6. Mavchamp, I want to Thank You for doing such a great job of keeping up with the 5A records and information for 16-5A, 15-5A, 7-5A and 8-5A were they all apply during the year. It's a hard and thankless job sometimes. I have to also throw in Lobofan07 for the stuff he does on the football season side of things too. it's hard work and a lot of hours just to do this on a one team level. I can't imagine trying to do this for multiples of teams. Thanks again to both of you.

  7. I've been watching the NFHS broadcasts of the girls and boys state basketball tournaments. Paid $70 for an annual subscription. Man, I am hoping the UIL is going to allow home teams to stream their home and away football games again in 2021 and not go with NHFS exclusively, i.e., not allow teams to stream their home and away games. It's NOT that it's horrible . . . but the quality of the broadcast just isn't up to par compared to what home teams can do. I have watched several really fine broadcasts -- has anyone seen Texas High? Good grief, it's like Sunday afternoon NFL. Tyler was awesome, and Pine Tree was excellent. The NFHS announcers know very little, if anything, about the teams and individuals they're broadcasting. I mean, it's the state basketball tournament. I'm not expecting Craig Way or anything but . . . again, I'm not ripping these guys, they're fine. But technically, the feeds slip / buffer so much, sound goes away sometimes, they have bad angles, the scores aren't always right, etc... they do have instant replay, which all of us who stream have that. I may just be talking to myself here but I hope the powers that be allow us to do it -- even if we have to pay a fee to the UIL, we would here in Jacksonville. @MattStepp

  9. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/biden-planning-first-major-tax-hike-in-almost-30-years-report/ar-BB1eBksJ?li=BBnb7Kz President Biden is reportedly planning the first major hike in federal taxes in almost 30 years to fund the economic program set to follow the recently approved $1.9 trillion pandemic stimulus package. Unidentified sources told Bloomberg that the increases will reflect the promises Biden made during his 2020 campaign. The planned increases reportedly include: raising the corporate tax from 21 percent to 28 percent; increasing the income tax rate on people making more than $400,000; expanding the estate tax; paring back tax preferences on pass-through businesses such as limited-liability companies; and setting up a higher capital gains tax rate for individuals making at least $1 million. The Hill has reached out to the White House for comment. As Bloomberg notes, an independent analysis of the Biden campaign's tax plan conducted by the Tax Policy Center found that it would raise around $2.1 trillion over 10 years. Tax hikes included as part of infrastructure and job packages will likely include repealing part of former President Trump's 2017 tax law that largely benefitted corporations and wealthy individuals, the news outlet notes, citing sources close to the matter. Biden had said during his campaign that he would repeal Trump's tax cuts on "day one" of his administration, though he has yet to do so. Democratic lawmakers have expressed some hesitance to support a tax increase. Moderate Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin (W.Va.), who has quickly become a key vote in Congress, previously told The Hill that he thought repealing Trump's tax cuts would be "ridiculous." He later walked back his remarks, saying, "Everything's open for discussion." "His whole outlook has always been that Americans believe tax policy needs to be fair, and he has viewed all of his policy options through that lens," former Biden economic aide Sarah Bianchi told Bloomberg. "That is why the focus is on addressing the unequal treatment between work and wealth." Any tax increases that are passed would likely take effect beginning in 2022, according to Bloomberg, which noted some lawmakers have called for the administration to hold off as pandemic-related unemployment remains high. An anonymous Democratic House member told The Hill in February that they did not think the government should be raising taxes. "People would accept the corporate tax raised a few points but beyond that you're going to have problems, especially in the middle of an economic crisis," the lawmaker said at the time. Republicans are expected to fight any proposed tax increases, though Bloomberg notes that there are some measures that they may get behind such as shifting from a gasoline tax to a vehicle-miles-traveled fee. GOP lawmakers may also support tax incentives that stop U.S. companies from moving jobs and profits out of the country, though they may not support penalties against such companies.

  12. One Party, and the MSM, did everything they could do to smear and ruin the reputation of an aspiring SCOTUS Justice, based on a totally obscure story of someone at a HS party, who admittedly knew very few details. Now that same Party has one of theirs who has seven women accusing him of sexual misconduct, complete with pictures, and they want to “let nature take it’s course”. Talk about hypocrites.

And I have to give him an attaboy on the fact that when I b-slap the Dems and he knows I’m right, he doesn’t respond, but just puts his little emoji on my post.

  15. Back in the late 1990s and 2000s, I had the opportunity to do some TV for East Texas cable in football playoffs. I remember doing the semifinals game (color guy) in December 2000 at Texas Stadium between JT and FM Marcus. It was fun... but I just didn’t know anything about either team. I’m sure I butchered some names, too. My point is.... it’s just a better broadcast when the commentators know at least one team really well. Even if they are homers, so what? So I give some grace to the NFHS guys because they come in cold. Appreciate everyone’s feedback and comments!

That’s not how it’s supposed to work. The original question was in your opinion what percentage of people do you think want a flood of migrants into our country?

  22. I have never been impressed with the NFHS announcers. I saw this weekend, they didn't know how to pronounce Clarendon. They could at least ask how to pronounce it if they weren't sure. A couple of years ago, my daughters team won state in volleyball and the guy announcing that had no idea on volleyball terminology or rules. The VB coach from Weatherford was trying to help him out, but the entire broadcast was a beat down due the guy.

Also drove gas prices up. 3. Highest tax hike ever. and y’all did not vote for Trump because of his mean tweets. Way to use your head

  25. Freaking PC, Cancel Culture madness has distorted everyone’s thought process. I must admit I’m torn here. Freedom of speech is a basic right, but the OC/Left has taken it away from us, primarily conservatives. Perhaps a lesson that we all are affected by this insanity will wake up some Liberals to not be a part of the Regressive movement. And since I brought up the movement, be aware it’s not progresssive. By their very actions, they’re Regressive.

  30. Politics hurt attendance more than anything. However, there are pay options that you can do through YouTube etc if you want/need revenue, which goes back to your point and the point I made to my AD. If you charge $6 at the gate, but stream for free, you are going to lose half of the people who just don't want to pay.

I know SFA, Sam, and Lamar will be hot on his tail, and I wouldn't be shocked to see McNeese try to team him back up with Braelon Bush...With his ability to score there will be some big boys after him as well...

I told him that fireman are usually union jobs and their unions will support democrats. He looked it up and sure enough he found what I told him was true. That reminds me, I haven’t talked to that democrat lately, I need to call him and remind him he’s a democrat

Now you act like your the National Enquirer with all the facts on the guy. And he’s a poor choice. The dumpster fire ain’t the coaches there. It’s the people who coach from the bleachers and Smoaky. If it were just the kids and coaches it would be fine. Y’all murk the water there. Everyone within 60 miles knows it.

From what I was told from a great source is that he was in way over his head when LS Head coach gave him the OC job but luckily brought coach Fish back bc he left Bonham and that he ran the offense. Lone Oak should have done their homework. He won’t be here long... look at his track record. Dad is an idiot as well. LO School board strikes again
