  1. As far as I am concerned justice was done in Officer Chauvins trial. I am not even referring to the verdict...I am referring to the process. There was enough evidence to believe Chauvin might have committed a crime. He was charged and prosecuted before a jury of his peers with the presumption of innocence. The prosecution and defense made their cases...and that jury of his peers found him guilty. That is the way the system works and while it might not be perfect it is better than most. I did find Maxine Waters comments to be problematic. No one cares what you are I say...but she is a member of the US Congress and as such has influence. Her statement about being "more confrontational" is the kind of thing I would expect to hear in a banana republic.

  3. On Tuesday night, the Blue Devils wrapped up their 20th consecutive trip to the playoffs and another district championship with a 10-0 win over Diboll. This season marks 19 consecutive years that Central Heights has accomplished at least 20 wins ( not counting COVID in 2020) in a season, averaging 26 wins per year over that span. This win also locks up their 17th district championship since the 2003 season. This team is loaded with lots of young talent with much more coming thru middle school at this time. Best of luck to Coaches Jackson ,Thornell and Williams as they get ready for another playoff run.

  4. That would be a sweet deal. Don’t think that’s the case. They will hire 1 AD for all sports. Funny how bitter people keep making up their own narratives and everything is “what they are hearing”.

  6. Communication and de-escalation could have gone a long way right here. The lady said she did not want to sign the ticket and told the officer no. Right at that moment he told her she was under arrest and escalated the whole situation emotionally on both sides. I think if he calmly explains that she has to sign the ticket and it is not an admission of guilt....and if she doesn't he will be forced to arrest her, things would have gone totally differently. Even after it got heated he could have ended it when she said she would sign the damn ticket. The officer obviously has issues with the her family already. Bottom line to me, they both could have and should have handled it better. One of them is supposedly a professional and does it for a living. I put more of the blame on him.

  8. This case doesn’t create trust. When politicians go out of their way to interfere with proper justice there’s no trust earned. Chauvin’s family should sue Maxine Waters for interfering with the case. This doesn’t mean I don’t think the man is guilty, I have said a few times I think this was manslaughter. Murder should’ve never been a charge, but the prosecution was looking to get him one way or the other. Manslaughter case was open and shut in my opinion, but now the guy will serve whatever is handed down for murder. That’s not proper justice, that’s trying to appease a group you don’t want tearing up your city. Proper justice is based on facts and evidence, not emotions and fear.

  10. Between Maxine Waters and Biden, I’m fairly certain the verdict will be overturned. As it should be. No way the guy got a fair trial. Guilty or not, that trial was nothing more than a lynch mob. When mob violence decides guilt or innocence, Justice is longer an option.

  11. https://www.cnn.com/2021/04/21/us/ohio-columbus-police-shooting-15-year-old/index.html how long should the officer have waited for her to plunge the knife in 1 time???2 times???3times??? come on and tell me how many times can you stab someone before a peace officer is allowed to use deadly force...

  15. Even I could tell that she wasn't all there. Just take a look at President Biden, and some say he has dementia, but hers was evidently far worse. It's like she didn't even recognize that he was a police officer in my opinion. I think he should have called in a Social Worker or the EMT to check on her. Most people here know I have an elderly friend. He didn't know that he had diabetes. One day he's driving in Houston on Veterans Memorial. He said he didn't even know he was there. He said he was stopped in the middle of the road from what the police said. They get out, and he slugs the cop. They called the paramedics, and determined that his actions were caused by low blood sugar. They gave him a shot, and asked what happened and where he was. The told him all the details. No charges were pressed, he wasn't shot or tazed or taken to jail. He didn't even lose his license for what I would say was having a seizure which can happen in the State of Texas. This is the exact same case to me. I would bet that all charges are dropped against this elderly woman and the officer is disciplined. I want follow up on this case.

  16. I dont speak for anyone else but...yeah. Ms Babbitt engaged in a very high risk action and it cost her her life. She would be alive today if she had remained a law abiding protester but she chose to become part of a mob over running the US Capitol. Considering the situation on Jan 6th I would say that the Capitol Police acted with remarkable restraint.

  17. Not sure if you know this or not, but that thread wasn’t locked because of your hearsay. I’m flattered that you think I would single you out and lock an entire thread for speculating on coaches, but that would never happen here. Bashing new and former coaches/administration is what got that thing locked. Every 3 toofed red bellied truck driver in Henderson had a rumor on that thread. It was a necessary move unfortunately.

  21. He should have been convivted of lesser charges and done prison time. What he did was uncalled for and outrageous. I don't believe it was murder, manslaughter maybe ... the common denominator in all these cases that libtards, especially the left wing media refuse to acknowledge is "A CRIMINAL RESISTING ARREST" ... I do believe the judge should have granted a change in venue and/or a mistrial because of Mad Maxine, Plugs and media bias. He should have also sequestered the jury. Chauvin was never going to get a fair trial in Minnesota under the circumstances. It was a no win situation for true justice ....

  23. If it takes turning the Justice System into a lynch mob mentality to gain trust, what good is it? That sounds very similar to how it worked in the 40’s & 50’s when the KKK would intimidate judges & jurors. So now we have BLM, Waters & Biden intimidating/influencing the Jury. Wasn’t good then, not good now. Has nothing to do with the guilt or innocence of Chauvin, has everything to do with a fair trial.

  28. No, but that 80 year old should’ve either shut up or announce his faith in the system regardless of the outcome. Instead, he played to the mob because he’s been lobbying for votes for 50 years and that’s all he knows to do.

The system just took a huge step in gaining ppl to trust it, but let's find anything and everything to overturn the jurors anyway we can.... thats the new America for ya SMH

  42. Found this at another site ... pretty much sums it up ..... So, Russia is massing troops on the border with Ukraine. Ukraine is threatening to take Crimea back by force. China is threatening Taiwan and its neighbors while also threatening our ships and Navy. N Korea is testing missiles again and restarting their nuclear weapons program. Iran has been emboldened and making more than their normal threats. Our southern border is a humanitarian disaster caused directly by this administration, and the administration that promised transparency is hiding it and not letting the media have access. Ford is closing a plant and moving it to Mexico after just bringing it back from Mexico because of the current Administration’s plan for Increased taxes. Price of steel up 145%, lumber 126%, wheat up 25%, food index up 25%, cotton 35%, silver 38%, copper 50%, soybeans 71%, oil 80%, Pipeline jobs lost. Wall construction jobs lost. 1.9 trillion in stimulus that funds the administrations pet projects and only paid a fraction to the people. 29 trillion in debt with 4.8 trillion projected 2021 deficit before the 2 trillion dollar stimulus proposed today for the new green deal. 6+% unemployment with millions of job openings that can’t be filled because federal unemployment assistance makes it more advantageous for people to stay home than work. All in the first 70 days. The current president is a disaster hold on tight the next 4 years are going to be a rough ride. All I'm saying is...you Biden supporters aren’t posting very much about the great things he’s doing. COPIED & PASTED come on, help us understand how this is all good. Someone tell me how this is better. I'm open to reason.

  43. Daniel Swaim was seen hauling a load of goats up through HWY 859 yesterday. Coincidence????? I think not. I have heard people in Edgewood like 4 things 1. hauling animals 2.driving golf carts 3.throwing golf clubs and 4.winning football games. Swaim checks all of those boxes. If he doesn't have to drive a bus route he will be there yesterday.
