The bullet that Carthage “dodged”, was a Crosby Cougar team that is looking like they just might be the best team Carthage will play all year. At least in some areas, if not most (and that’s to take nothing from Gilmer who I know will be very good as well). Carthage won with a Covid depleted offense, something WOS couldn’t do last year. And that Crosby team just hung with Manvel and made that a hell of a game. Is the offense as good as some years past through two games? No. But it’s getting better. If the offense struggles in district then I’d be a little more apprehensive. But I’ll take the grit and toughness to come back on a defense like Crosby had with a patchwork offensive line and brand new QB as well as a 42-14 victory over what I saw as a talented and explosive Cornerstone offense. Carthage defense will carry the team as long as they need to before the new offense starters get up to speed and to the level Carthage is known for. The WR group is one of the best we have ever had. And the new TE looks to be the next great, productive TE for Carthage that so many others have been. As long as the QBs and o-line improve as they always have under this staff, Carthage isn’t going anywhere.

I think the sooner you prepare yourself to become a hybrid DFW/East Texas district the easier it will be. It'll be coming at some point no doubt. With Royse City all but assured to move up to 5A D1, and Jacksonville/SS moving down to 4A D1, it honestly makes a lot of sense to send Nac south and split up the lone East Texas in 5A. I think the biggest thing we need to see is really how will the COVID attendances really affect realignment.

I agree there is a difference in both teams. But with our new coach LCM has improved which I’m glad to see. We ran the ball well on WOS. one of running backs had 16 carries for 175 yArds on the ground. I have no doubt Carthage would win the game.

Hope they are able to plan all the festivities for pre game and game starts on time. and the Band does not go over their time at half. the question is will Pittsburg have more Baby Daddies than Daingerfield did 2 years ago. There are, but right now I believe y’all and Franklin are in a different league. I’ve said that all along, and was ridiculed by a few Waskom homers. Our youth is showing. Offense isn’t smooth yet, but that will happen with a young team. I trust our staff to have everything cruising by playoffs, but anything can happen.

I'm not complaining, or criticizing the coaching at all ... you guys have had a lot of success running that offense ... I'm just saying I have been following HS football for 40+ years and have only seen a handfull of teams make it all the way through the playoffs running that or a similar type of offense ... Gunter and Liberty Hill come to mind ... just think the odds are against you, that's all .... love to see the Rams pull it off though if, and when my Dawgs are eliminated ... i am a firm believe in a balanced attack being the optimal offense, and yes, I know you can throw the ball running your offense .... the most successful teams these days seem to be balanced attacks in some sort of spread offense .... of course there are always exceptions with dominant players like Shiner had last year .... we all have our preferences and we just have to believe in whatever systems we are going with ... hopefully, y’all will get healthy and make another deep run ....
