  1. The calls for the offense to ply clean is just pointless at this point. They are who they are. They’re not changing. The defense is good, but they’re still gonna make bone headed plays. Is what it is. We can call and scream for them to clean up their act. But the fact is, we’re a turnover machine on offense and the team as a whole is on pace to be the most penalized team both in penalties and in yardage in the history of this program. King’s play calling isn’t changing. The time management isn’t changing. He’s been the same way since he first took over, and we’ve lost potential state championship game appearances in the past because of it. Definitely not changing with this year’s bunch. Would love nothing more than for our program to become a Highland Park in terms of discipline, but that’s a joke just thinking about it. QB play isn’t changing. We are who we are. Faster I and others realize that the better off we’ll be. I’m not gonna lie. We’ve had some teams in the past I was pretty much over with after game 3 or 4, 2016 being there most obvious. 2014 as well. But this one is just hitting me on another level. There is so much talent. So much. And yes we are young. But the young ones are the ones stepping up and saving our season. They’re the only reason we have a shot at the post season. I just am so beyond frustrated with how right there this season is. How on the cusp of being a state title contender this year we are, but we’re not one because of one position. It’s disheartening to know no matter what we do, we’re stuck with it. That and we’re going to get to go through the exact same thing again next year. All me a pessimist or whatever, but King is set in his ways and nothing is changing. I can hope and hope and hope but it’s for no good. And we saw that with the play calling last Friday. You can hold Highland Park, in two meetings, to 4 total touchdowns and 71 TOTAL rushing yards…yet still find a way to lose both games in almost identical fashion. It’s just beyond defeating and disheartening. I know people don’t agree with what I’m saying, or how I’m feeling, or the way I called out a player in the HP thread. But if I’m gonna celebrate and scream how good a player is going to be one week, they should also get that same feedback when they’re playing poorly in my eyes. You shouldn’t have it one way. We’ve become a program just under being actually elite/one of the bests these last two years, and I really feel it’s because of one position that refuses to be addressed. Now I know I don’t see the daily ins or outs. I’m not there and I have no reason to be. I see what I see, and also hear what I hear. But King has been leading this program for nearly 20 years now. The things that got on at Longview are as predictable as King’s play calling. It took us getting blown out just for him to start his own son. Is what it is. Will be there at most games the rest of the way, but that realization of where we are and where we’re going has definitely hit. And it’s nothing to Arlington unless something changes.

  4. Brother....I completely understand what you are saying. I am a few weeks ahead of you on how I feel about all of this. Blessed we have a John King but frustrated in some of the things he does. I also fully acknowledge that he has probably forgotten more about football than I'll every know and deals with things I couldn't imagine, but I can be a fan who has an opinion, none the less. The part I highlighted above is who we are and will always be. It will take a generational player to elevate us (every so often) to being elite for that particular year. I honestly don't think we will see any better than this. I don't think it is apathy...for me, it is a realization of where we are located, the talent we have, and what we are in terms of the program and coaching. Again I do recognize we are really in an incredible place as a non urban program. So I am going to sit back, let him do his thing and keep my expectations accordingly. I grew up in the days of Bero...I'll take John King over him or any other.

  10. Maybe it was too difficult to read for many under the age of 30. Computers in schools have dumbed down our society as well as videos. Many news articles have a video of a newscaster reading what is in the story for those that somehow were able to graduate without knowing how to read.

  12. Yep. That's the only game I remember Saban being outcoached other than that one Clemson national title game where Clemson won 44-16 or something. I can't wait for The Pulse.

  14. I'm confident enough with myself and my relationship that you feel free to say whatever it is you like. You don't know me or her. If you want to crawl up the water tower to defend your cousins honor by all means go ahead. Just don't be a kitty Kat when called out for it. It is what it is. Now move along good sir. I'm trying to talk about rolex and how he just took an offense that put up 10 points against Colorado and drug his Texas size Nads across the entire country for doubting his comments over the summer.

  17. Nope. Not with the defense this team has, not with the receivers this team has. I truly believe we are one position away from competing for state this season. It just so happens that one position is the most important in football at this current time.

  20. Regarding #2 the punt hit the Texas player on the shoulder. That’s why OU got the ball not because of catch interference.

  22. This just isn’t true. Texas had 3 drives in the 3rd quarter. Drives 1 and 3 were killed by Oline penalties and were 3&outs deep in our own territory. The 2nd drive ended in a FG but could’ve been a TD had Washington been able to get his toe down on a nice wheel route. On this drive Texas started with a 17 yd pass to Worthy. The very next play there was a holding call that backed Texas up but everyone forgets about it because the next play Bijan picked up 33 on 1st and 20. On the 4th drive Texas was 3&out on 3 straight passes, with starting field position at their own 18.

  26. OU recovered. Texas could not recover the success that they had in the first half due to poor OL play. A lack of a strong pass rush allowed for Williams to get out of the pocket and make some throws that were some how brought in by his receivers. OU caught all of the breaks in the second half which happened to be more pivotable than the ones that Texas had in the first half. Yes, it is the “same old Texas” in the sense that they do not have the bigs up front but it is light years ahead of the Strong and Herman years. I am disappointed that Texas lost but upon further reflection I can understand why. Texas will be fine.

  28. You do realize that there are medical professionals that do not trust this treatment? What’s there not to get? Everyone has the right to make decisions about their body. I thought liberals were in favor of that with the abortion and transgender issues. I’m assuming you’re a liberal. If I’m wrong, I apologize. You’re vaxxed. Quit hounding people who are not. You are witnessing a medical apartheid in this country. You guys don’t seem to care.

  30. Texas started out strong by punching OU in the mouth. Early on the OL did provide just enough of a push to get Bijan some openings to run. However, in the second half OU's physical advantage with their DL over the OL of Texas proved itself in that Bijan, despite making the necessary moves to avoid the first contact, was immediately met by a gang of others. Moore did redeem himself with some great catches but the ill-advised KO return proved to be terminal for Texas. Rattler was rattled. Williams was the difference with his legs but he was also a beneficiary of some Manziel/Evans magic as some of his throws were in desperation and were caught by tremendous efforts by his WR's. Some untimely penalties (legit) for Texas put them behind the chains. The WR running out of bounds for OU and not being recalled was huge. OU did not have a penalty called against them until the 4Q. Tackling was an issue for Texas as well. Need to work on that. Unfortunately Texas could not hold onto the 3 TD lead but they still do not have the athletes that OU does. Sark called a good game but the team just could not execute with the guys on the field. The loss hurts but it is not the end of the world. Texas will be fine.

  34. Lindale is banged up on both sides of the ball right now. But coaches will adjust and move some guys around. They will find a way to put points on the board, and defense front 6 will be after Athens QB all night. Lindale with the win by whatever it takes.
