the of ALL 4A football, Congrats on yet another District title. many years from now, I can talk about the historic run Carthage went on and I got to see it with my own eyes. lol. how we all talk bout the legends who helped to make Texas the absolute best highschool football in the nation. Anyone who is a fan of football ,friend and/or foe whether they admit or not knows its been a privilege to watch and/or play against Carthage while in a mere decade and a half have Carved their programs place toward the top of the list of of the best programs the state has ever had. LEGENDARY!

7th, 8th,JV and Varsity have a combined record of 35-1-1 on the year. 8th, JV and Varsity all went undefeated

As a lifelong Carthage Bulldog fan, I can honestly say that we are extremely fortunate to have perhaps the greatest high school football program in Texas, as well as the Nation beyond. How well I can still remember leaner years when things were much different. It is a great sense of pride to know that this little town of 6700 people has made an indelible mark in in Texas High School Football History.

Finished lower? 3rd place behind 2 power houses… I don’t think so. District 9 with the sweep..

This one? It was perfect. The defender was ahead of him in position, so leading Lewis more would've resulted in a break-up or possibly a pick. No, Thomas hit him in the back shoulder, where no one but Lewis could've caught it. There was literally no better placement for the situation. That's a D-1 throw.

Oh no, he's apart of that special sophomore group. Now, the JR impact players on defense? That'd be your JJ Rougley, who is already working on Longview's sack record. Kaden Brooks, Boone...rotational guys like Watkins, Polty, Mayfield, Braggs... We'll return our entire defense for next year (outside of Isaac and Fairchild)....plus the addition of '24 and '25 players. We're going to have some solid defenses the next several years.

Magnolia defeated a really bad Lufkin team 27-21...that speaks volumes. IF the Longview team that showed up last night is on display then they advance to round two. RJ

Chase Smith had a pick too. Fellow sophomore that is making a case for all state this year. Buddha, Simmons, Shepp and Billy Smith....other sophomore starters that have made major impacts on this defense this year.

You mean with the QB we've been screaming about all season long?? hmmm..

A few quick observations 1. Best game by Gilmer all season. By far. Both offense and defense. The game was NEVER in question, as Gilmer scored on their first 5 possessions, including a 99 yard drive. 2. Glad to see the return of the vertical passing game. Seems like Gilmer has been throwing screens and short out routes since week 5. They pushed the ball downfield deep tonight and it was very effective. 3. Also glad to see the 2 goal line stands in the 2nd half. The game was already out of reach, but Gilmer showed some real pride and kept PG out of the end zone. A great win. Hopefully this sets Gilmer up for a long playoff run.

I bleed blue .. and you’ll look far and wide before you find someone that loves CC football more than me .. but I believe my bulldogs are in trouble.. lost way too many starters at the beginning of district and just never recovered.. we’ll fight til the end .. and play hard .. and hopefully keep it respectable

keep doing the Rockin L part ....but with all those south and eastside kids at longview, yall still marching to Flight of the Bumble Bee..come on. By the way UIL halftime shows are way too long. Ive been to games in many other states and they would be in the 4th qtr by now.

According to the Dallas Morning News, points won't come into play. They have it as: If Tyler wins, Tyler is the 2nd Seed, McKinney North is 3rd, and Longview is 4th If Longview wins, Longview is the 2nd Seed, Tyler is 3rd, and McKinney North is 4th And points difference doesn't matter.

And fortunately....the pass will be underthrown....

The Sherman ISD confirmed that number of 2,185, so they stay in 5A Division I for at least another cycle. They added 233 kids from last time and continued growth is expected, so 2024 should see them in 6A.
