  1. Thank you all for your love and dedication to this country. For all of us who didn’t serve, make sure you go out of your way to shake a vets hand and thank him or her. I put this here instead of the political forum. It can get a little hairy over there. Just like we all love high school football, we should all show thanks and respect to our vets. My wife’s grandfather is a 103 year old WW2 vet and it makes him feel 70 years younger when someone thanks him. It’s important, so do it. God bless you vets.

  2. This 103 years young soldier stormed the beaches of Normandy. He has all kinds of cool memorabilia. He respects the English, thinks the French are light footed, and would not pee on a Russian if they were on fire. 3/4 of a century later, he still has a hard time talking about buddies that didn’t make it back across the big pond. I said “big pond?” one time early on in my marriage. He said “the Atlantic dumb ###!”.

  4. This time of year I take the time to teach my students the difference between Veterans Day and Memorial Day. I also let them know that November 10 is the Marine Corps Birthday, and why Veterans day is celebrated on the 11th of November. You will be surprised how many students do not know a lot of this. I served and it was one of the best things I ever done in my life. I thank all of those who have served also. I would like to thank all of those people who recognize and tell Vets thank you for your service . It means a lot.

  6. My fam has been in every conflict starting with the first on,we left blood on the ground to mix with the dirt,in almost every nation we've fought in...I take this holiday as more important than the breath in my lungs.I saw a police officer talking to a service member in a store in Brenham this morning before daylight, stopped and thanked both for their service to my people.God I love my country, and the people who risk their life to protect it

  7. Thanks to all my fellow vets. I appreciate all of you. Also, thanks to all who continue to honor veterans and recognize the sacrifices made for our country. It does me good to see people who are still proud to be Americans and recognize how great this country is and what it has taken to make it great.

  8. Thanks to all of you. I was in the Army. My son was (is) a Marine, and my G’son is now serving in The Corp. As Hank Jr said, it’s a family tradition.

  9. I am a veteran who served during the Vietnam conflict and I thank all who served no matter in what capacity for they are heroes in my book. I shake the hand of any veteran I see and thank them. And I also go out for my way th shake hands with our police forces because they are on the front lines today more than ever. And I am thankful for all who thank a vet.

  15. As a kid, I can remember visiting my grandparents and all they had was a single hole outhouse. If we needed to go before we got there we hit the ditch on the roadside. You can imagine the awe I felt when I first saw a Buccee's restroom....

  22. I would say Baseball at "The Box" is a better experience than a Football game at Night in Tiger Stadium. There is at least a less chance of getting puked on.

  24. Let’s be honest. Yeah technically speaking anyone can be beat, but realistically ring 9 is in route. With them staying in 4AD2, rings 10 & 11 are all but guaranteed. It is what it is. I enjoy seeing it because once it’s gone it’s going to be hard to duplicate. Who knows how many SS could get. Second highest paid coach in Texas. First when you factor in cost of living. Why would he leave? How many coaches can stay in one spot and never even have to think about a uhaul. I’m sure the list is short.

  27. Maybe not. What’s funny is a guy suggesting that Beckville hasn’t played a single good team, then looking at their schedule and seeing that they’ve beaten no less than 5 teams with a winning record, including the one you have picked to beat them. Yes I want my Rams to pull out the W Friday night. Yes I think we’re capable of doing it. Yes I believe it will happen. But the idea that Beckville isn’t a good football team makes as much sense as an oilfield hand voting democrat.

  28. Laying all jokes aside .. me and my daddy is just grateful and blessed to be able to go to a game, much less a playoff game.. last september we lost my momma .. and I pretty much gave up on everything.. didn’t care about doing anything.. and for sure didn’t feel like going to a football game.. without God I’m not sure where I’d be tonight, or if I’d even be here at all .. i thank God for being with me .. cause I still miss her everyday so much .. we all do .. so im just excited to be going Friday night with my daddy to checkout the tomato bowl .. win or lose I’ll be happy good luck to both teams !

  29. I wouldn't look too far ahead ... it's unlucky for sure ... El Campo is waiting in the wings ... and while they are one-dimensional, you would be too if you had the RB they have ... I hope there is a rematch in the future, but there are a few one hundred yard battlefields to conquer first ...

  30. There’s been several posters, even from Carthage, who have stated that a team like CS has a chance if they can control the clock and play good defense. Problem is CS doesn’t really run that kind of offense. Still say they have to hold Carthage under 21 to win…

  32. They definately will hate the fact that he has a right to defend himself. They will likely drum up some kind of superficial charge to nail him on though. And BLM/antifa are gonna riot with no consequences regardless of the outcome. I haven't heard of any of the rioters facing charges.

  33. That is what scares me. Quinlan allowed Caddo's Lenamond to go off for 110 yards and 3 TDs of his 44 rec for 808 yards & 17 TDs on the year. Although they did keep Sunnyvale's and Caddo's other 800 yard WR in check. Sunnyvale only passed for a half of their season average vs Quinlan. Williams, Roden, Rowan, Holbrook were all on Quinlan's 4x100 and 4x200 teams last year, but Gilmer probably does have the speed advantage. So. FS Morales does have good speed and has 5 INT's including 3 vs Caddo.

  38. My point is that they aren't putting them in a position to be presentable. I'm trying not to be to hard on Coach because you can probably say he is the second best coach at JT over the past 30 yrs (although I would lean towards Rush). But anyone can see that McFall and Lacy are incredible athletes but not qb's at this stage in their career. I think McFall can get close because he is that good of a talent, but like you said, qb isn't his position. So you got to change things up for them when they are in the game. Like Florida would do when they went from Leak to Tebow or Bama from Hurts to Mac Jones. Put these guys in Wildcat or double TE, wing-T, Veer or something. You can clearly see they can't throw downfield like Eli and the good teams like HP and LV knew it too. Shorten the game up, burn clock, take 3 yards a play. Instead they going three and out with incompletions and stopping the clock. Take a 21-7, loss instead of 49-0. Give yourself a chance to be in the game. Not every team has been blessed with the past qb's JT/Tyler has had, but the other coaches seem to maximize their teams success regardless. The team that just beat Cujo gave you the blue print They went 4 rounds deep several yrs ago with a very average qb. Its like this program has been so lucky with great qbs, they don't know what to do when they don't have one.

  39. Yeah Kirk Herbstreet called me last month. Said he’s been keeping up with my work here on SDC. Wanted me to take a job with espn. I turned it down because I don’t want to move to Connecticut or some other foreign country. I hear they have deer hunting up there, but I ain’t mad enough at them to hunt in the snow.
