I posted this on Facebook and thought I'd share it here too. Carthage fans, not saying it would have made a difference but one clear advantage CS had on us was the energy of the crowd. I remember seeing our boys trying to get the crowd going and for the most parts our fans just sat there. CS built off the energy of that crowd and played great football, but watching on Ctown's side was a boring atmosphere. That's the only way to put it. Felt like a regular season game IMO. I'm sorry but this was a disgrace. Always had been to me and we missed an opportunity to help our boys.5 points

I am eating so much CROW this morning I should be able to fly. Whatever you throw at me I deserve. No comments from me other than great season Dawgs and congratulations to China Spring.5 points

Proof, nice shot. What a game!4 points

Congratulations China Spring, you played one hell of a game! A few of us plan to be there next week to support CS against WOS. Good season Dawgs! One hell of a run, but unfortunately all good things must come to an end.4 points

That game took 10 years off of Ol TRUEBLUE’s life. If we have many more seasons like this, I’m gonna have to change my screen name to truegray82.3 points

I agree, we need go back and pull up the YouTube video of Carthage versus Celina 2008. The game was stand up and yelling by Dawg fans. We have been spoiled by winning and forget, the kids feed off our energy. But we can fix that next year on the very first non district game. Let’s Go Dawgs!!!!!!!3 points

He acted like they won a Championship is what tickled me lmao they got a participation ribbon3 points

Crosby got beat by a 4a DII team that didn’t make it past the 3rd round. I would expect them to want to keep that quiet. I don’t think there is a wound except for these seniors and the rest of the coaches and players. Fans? Yea of course we want to win every game from know until kingdom come, but that’s just not realistic. I’m thankful for a great season and some new records in the books. The bar is set so high at Carthage that this is a disappointment, but I won’t look at it as that. Just another great season that came up a little shorter than some of the rest.3 points

Lotta fans staying home to watch game(s) now because of all the different streaming outlets. Most every game is available on TV nowadays (for better or worse)2 points

Great game! I'm guessing they put all the Texas schools in the same bracket for travel, but tough for the winner of this game to have to play the National Champs. Good season for SFA! I still think they were crazy not to hire Traylor, but the Coach from Commerce has done well.2 points

I just hope everyone takes us lightly and we fly under the radar. EC talked all week about there D1 running backs that they were unstoppable. LCM is well coached and is discipline. We are going to make plays and make it a ball game2 points

I’ve told people all year you have got to contain waskoms QB!! He is the leader of that offense in my opinion.. because he runs that triple option to perfection... he will have you thinking the plays going up the middle to the FB .. before you ever realize he is 15 yards downfield already.. #7 .. #12 .. are great runners .. but #8 sets them up for it ! I’ve had people argue with me about this .. but put a different QB in and see what happens ...2 points

Will know Monday for sure he’s been telling me he feels good and it’s not hurting as bad but only time will tell2 points

CH 35 LCM 31 Teams that are in the 4th round now belong here. After what I saw yesterday from CH they are surely ironing out some mistakes. We were fortunate that our defense came thru and held in their. Should be a very competitive game. We faced adversity and didn’t quit.2 points

Believe me I did not know China Spring was that good, even after watching Max Prep of them destroy teams by 40 points. Their O line was big and strong, 11 at linebacker, 55 on the D line, 5, 4, 2, 15, 8, and many more were outstanding last night. My Dawgs were out played and I would have never thought that could happen especially the Dawg D. CS has a state championship caliber team and coaching, your next opponent WOS will be a big challenge.2 points

Man that's crazy numbers 81 wins out of 83 games.... nothing but respect for that program, time to start a new streak2 points

Or WOS. Or Celina. Lots of really, really good teams left. A few that matchup with CS very well.2 points

Always tough losing for the first time in a long time. But calling out kids and saying they are the worst the program has had, is really not fair to those "kids". "Worst Offense", "Worst Defense", "Worst Offensive Line", etc., those are all demeaning and degrading terms that these hard working players are getting after a rare loss. Great game by China Spring, tough loss for Carthage....but that is as far as that should go in my opinion. Sometimes you have to win like a champion and you need to accept a loss as a champion. These children have been supported for their incredible efforts for a long time, they need support now more than ever. There will always be someone blaming the referees and blaming the coaches for a loss. And they will be there blaming a team for not winning by a large enough margin and even hear where a coach should be fired because he/she had a 9-2, 10-1 or 11-3 type season. Remember there are experienced kids on these teams that have won it all and they have now experienced losing for the first time, they need to understand that this happens. Don't get me wrong, pushing to be the best is a great avenue to fulfill dreams, but sometimes it is inevitable that we will stumble. Congratulations Carthage, awesome year and looking forward to many more of your successes. Congratulations China Spring, awesome year for you as well and by knocking off a great champion, hope you use that victory to your advantage and win a State Championship this season.2 points

I'll take pine tree over lobo. Sfa don't make any sense. Rose stadium would be nice2 points

So proud of this team and I love our coach. If you told me before the season that they would be 8-4 with wins over Texas, Texas A&M, LSU and Missouri, I would have never believed it. They also were very competitive in their losses except for Georgia. I hope they get a great bowl game and finish it off by winning that too! WPS!2 points

I agree, CS performed very well on both sides of the ball not just on the lines. Their DB’s were on our receivers in coverage tighter than any team I can remember in a long time. No two ways about it, China Spring just flat beat us last night. I was quite surprised our defense didn’t perform way better than they did. I mean, they stood up when they had to in the second half for sure, but CS completed some passes I didn’t think they would and ran the ball effectively throughout the game. My thought process going into the game on our defense versus their offense goes back to last year. Last year this same defense held CS to one touchdown in the first half and one in the second half. I think a lot of it had to do with our offense not helping much at all. The defense was on the field a ton, and you have to give CS credit for all of that. CS is a very good team and they’ve improved from last year to this year. I hope those Cougars win state this year!2 points

Terrible teams don’t make it to the 3rd round.2 points

I thought the key turning point for the game was Kilgore's fumbled kickoff right after CH scored their first touchdown. Kilgore owned the first quarter and a little into the second quarter, but CH owned the second quarter. Congrats to Chapel Hill. Y'all are finding your groove at the perfect time.2 points

The starting QB and RB are freshman. The RB ran for 195 yards tonight.....his best performance to date.2 points

Carthage program has nothing to hang their head about. This group of seniors won a lot of ball games. Thanks for a great season. I know it stings right now for the players, coaches, and fans but tomorrow is a new day. Thanks to all the seniors for all you have done for this program and all the hard work. Y’all all got a ring and helped the program win a program record 41 games in a row. That was a hell of a ride. Time to start a new streak!2 points

Now go win it all. Y’all got the team to do it. Execution was unbelievable. Were not the least bit intimidated. Brought the hat all night. That looked like a state title finalist to me, and my pick as the state champ.2 points

Man, I watched as much of this one as I could after the Carthage/China Spring game. I’m not so sure WOS wasn’t the best team in the field to begin with. I think the Mustangs would have given Carthage all they could handle and then some. I know one thing’s for sure, there’s nobody left — not even Gilmer — that has the speed WOS has on both sides of the ball. That may not amount to a hill of beans in the end, but it sure as hell doesn’t hurt.2 points

this is the truth...reminds me so much of those ultra talented Desoto and WOS teams that couldn't get out of their own way...honestly think this was by far one of the most talented teams by age we have ever fielded...lots to grow on...2 points

Congrats to CS. Great team. Y’all go win state. Now is only the time to congratulate them on their win, there will be time for lots of discussion in the coming days. Thought CS played about as good of a game as they could, and came away with a huge win. Great season Dawgs. Keep your heads up.2 points
